📚 Year 10 Cambridge Chinese: Quick Reference to Formulas and Theorems | 十年级剑桥中文:公式定理速查手册
For many Year 10 Cambridge Chinese learners, grammar rules can feel like a maze of characters and patterns. This handbook reimagines those rules as clear, memorisable "formulas" and "theorems" — just like in maths or science. Each key structure is broken down into a symbolic pattern, explained in plain English, and illustrated with example sentences. Use this as a quick reference to power through your IGCSE Chinese revision.
对于许多十年级剑桥中文学习者来说,语法规则就像一座由汉字和句式构成的迷宫。本手册将这些规则重新构想为清晰、好记的“公式”与“定理”——就像数学或科学那样。每一个核心结构都被拆解成符号化的模式,用简单直白的语言解释,并配有例句。把它当作快速参考,助你冲刺 IGCSE 中文复习。
1. The SVO Axiom | 主谓宾公理
The fundamental Chinese sentence follows Subject + Predicate (+ Object). Chinese is a strict SVO language, meaning the subject almost always comes before the verb, and the object after the verb. Adverbials of time and place slot in after the subject but before the verb.
中文最基本的句子遵循“主语 + 谓语(+ 宾语)”结构。汉语是严格的 SVO 语言,这意味着主语几乎总在动词前,宾语在动词后。时间和地点状语通常放在主语之后、动词之前。
The formula: S + (Time/Place) + V + O. For example, "I eat breakfast at home every morning" → 我每天早上在家吃早饭。The time phrase 每天早上 and place 在家 both come before the verb 吃.
公式:S +(时间/地点)+ V + O。例如“I eat breakfast at home every morning” → 我每天早上在家吃早饭。时间短语“每天早上”和地点“在家”都放在动词“吃”之前。
An important corollary: questions formed with 吗 do not change the SVO order. Simply add 吗 to the end of a statement: 你吃饭吗? (Do you eat?). Similarly, negating with 不 or 没 keeps the order intact: 他不看电影.
一个重要推论:用“吗”构成的疑问句不改变 SVO 语序。只需在陈述句末尾加上“吗”:你吃饭吗?同样,用“不”或“没”否定时语序不变:他不看电影。
2. 了₁ Completion Theorem | 了₁ 完成态定理
The particle 了 placed directly after a verb indicates that an action has been completed or realised. Think of it as a “completion marker” for the verb phrase. Formula: V + 了 + (quantified object/complement).
语气助词“了”直接放在动词后,表示动作已经完成或实现。可以把它看作动词短语的“完成标记”。公式:V + 了 +(带数量或描述的宾语/补语)。
For instance, 我买了三本书 (I bought three books). The 了 after 买 marks the purchase as accomplished. If the object is simple and unmodified, 了 is often still required for a past completed action: 我吃了饭 (I ate). However, to sound natural, Chinese often adds a quantifier or further information: 我吃了饭就出去了 (I ate and then went out).
例如,“我买了三本书”。动词“买”后面的“了”标记购买这个动作已完成。若宾语简单且无修饰,表达过去完成动作时“了”仍常出现:我吃了饭。不过,为使句子更自然,汉语常加上数量词或其他信息:我吃了饭就出去了。
Negation uses 没 (or 没有) and drops 了: 我没买书 / 我没有买书 (I didn’t buy any books). The completion marker 了 and negator 没 cannot coexist in the same clause.
否定形式要用“没”(或“没有”),并且要去掉“了”:我没买书 / 我没有买书。完成标记“了”和否定词“没”不能在同一分句中共存。
3. 了₂ Change‑of‑State Theorem | 了₂ 状态变化定理
When 了 appears at the very end of a sentence (not just after the verb), it signals a change of state or a new situation. This 了₂ is different from the completion marker; it refers to the whole proposition. Formula: Sentence + 了.
当“了”出现在句子最末尾(而非仅仅在动词后)时,它表示状态变化或新情况出现。这个“了₂”与完成标记不同,它作用于整个命题。公式:句子 + 了。
Typical examples: 下雨了 (It’s raining now — it wasn’t before), 我饿了 (I’m hungry now — I wasn't earlier), 她会说中文了 (She can speak Chinese now — she couldn’t before). Each marks a transition from a previous state to a new one. This is one of the most frequently tested points in IGCSE Chinese.
典型例句:下雨了(现在下雨了——之前没下),我饿了(现在我饿了——之前不饿),她会说中文了(现在她会说中文了——之前不会)。每句都标记了从旧状态到新状态的转变。这是 IGCSE 中文最常考的考点之一。
The structure “太 + adjective + 了” also uses 了₂ to express excessive degree: 太贵了! (Too expensive!). The 了 here underlines the speaker's subjective reaction to the state.
“太 + 形容词 + 了”结构也使用了了₂,表达程度过分:太贵了!这里的“了”强调了说话人对该状态的主观反应。
4. 过 Experiential Aspect Theorem | 过 经历态定理
The particle 过 is placed after a verb to indicate that someone has experienced an action at least once in the past. It emphasises the experience, not the result. Formula: V + 过 + O. The classic test phrase: 你去过中国吗? (Have you ever been to China?).
助词“过”放在动词后,表示某人至少在过去经历过一次该动作。它强调经历而非结果。公式:V + 过 + O。经典测试句:你去过中国吗?
Negation uses 没(有) but crucially keeps 过: 我没去过中国 (I have never been to China). You must say 没...过, not simply 没 past action. This is a common mistake for Year 10 learners.
否定式用“没(有)”,但关键是要保留“过”:我没去过中国。必须说“没……过”,而不能单用“没”加过去动作。这是十年级学生常见的错误。
Contrast with 了₁: 我吃了北京烤鸭 means I ate (and finished eating) Beijing duck on a particular occasion. 我吃过北京烤鸭 means I have eaten Beijing duck at some point in my life, no specific time implied. The experience focus is what makes 过 special.
与“了₁”对比:“我吃了北京烤鸭”意思是在某个特定场合我吃了北京烤鸭(且吃完了)。“我吃过北京烤鸭”则表示我人生中某个时候吃过北京烤鸭,不指向具体时间。这种经历焦点正是“过”的特色。
5. 着 Continuous Aspect Formula | 着 持续态公式
The aspect particle 着 is used to describe a continuous state or an action in progress that creates a static scene. Formula: V + 着 (+ O). It often appears in descriptions of location: 桌子上放着一本书 (On the desk lies a book).
动态助词“着”用来描述一种持续的状态,或正在进行的动作所构成的静态场景。公式:V + 着(+ 宾语)。它常出现在位置描写中:桌子上放着一本书。
Note that 着 is not generally used for actions that are progressive in the sense of "is doing right now". For that, use 在 or 正在 before the verb: 我在吃饭 (I am eating). 着 is more for resultant states: 门开着 (The door is open). Use 着 with verbs like 穿, 戴, 拿, 站, 坐, 躺 to describe posture or appearance.
注意,“着”通常不用于表示“正在做某事”的进行态。要表达进行态,应在动词前用“在”或“正在”:我在吃饭。而“着”更偏向于结果状态:门开着。与“着”常搭配的动词有穿、戴、拿、站、坐、躺等,用来描述姿势或外观。
The negative form is 没(有) + V + 着, though it is less common and often means the state hasn’t been achieved: 门没开着 (The door isn’t open). Often it’s simpler to use 不 in descriptive contexts: 他不站着 (He isn't standing).
否定形式为“没(有) + V + 着”,不过较不常见,常表示该状态未达到:门没开着。在描写性语境中,用“不”更简单:他不站着。
6. 把字句 Manipulation Formula | 把字句处置式公式
The 把 construction is used when the subject does something to a specific object, emphasising the disposal or handling of that object. The formula: S + 把 + O + V + result/complement/other element. The object must be definite or known to the listener, and the verb must be a transitive action that can bring about a change.
“把”字句用于主语对特定宾语做了某事,强调对宾语的处置或处理。公式:S + 把 + O + V + 结果/补语/其他成分。宾语必须是确定的或对听者已知的,动词必须是能够带来变化及物动作动词。
Standard example: 他把书放在桌子上了 (He put the book on the table). The action 放 is done to the specific object 书, and the result 在桌子上 is attached. Simply saying 他放书在桌子上 is ungrammatical; the 把 structure is required when the object is definite and a location result follows.
标准例句:他把书放在桌子上了。动作“放”作用于特定物体“书”,且附有结果“在桌子上”。仅仅说“他放书在桌子上”是不合语法的;当宾语确定且后接处所结果时,必须使用“把”字结构。
A useful theorem: if you can rephrase the sentence as “S takes O and does V to it”, then 把 is likely appropriate. Imperative forms with 把 are common: 把门关上! (Close the door!). Negation places 不/没 before 把: 他没把作业写完 (He didn’t finish the homework).
一个实用的定理:如果你能把句子改写为“主语拿宾语对其做某动作”,那么很可能适合用“把”。带“把”的祈使句很常见:把门关上!否定时把“不/没”放在“把”前:他没把作业写完。
7. 被字句 Passive Voice Formula | 被字句被动式公式
The 被 construction expresses passive voice, where the subject is the receiver of the action. Formula: Receiver + 被 (+ Agent) + V + complement/other result. The agent is often omitted if unknown or unimportant.
“被”字句表示被动语态,主语是动作的承受者。公式:承受者 + 被(+ 施事者)+ V + 补语/其他成分。如果施事者未知或不重要,常可省略。
Example: 我的手机被偷了 (My phone was stolen). Here the agent is omitted. With agent: 我的手机被小偷偷了 (My phone was stolen by a thief). In spoken Chinese, 叫 and 让 can replace 被 but must include the agent: 手机叫他弄坏了 (The phone was broken by him).
例句:我的手机被偷了。此处施事者省略。带施事者:我的手机被小偷偷了。口语中,“叫”和“让”可代替“被”,但必须出现施事者:手机叫他弄坏了。
Negation: place 没(有) before 被: 作业没被做完 (The homework wasn’t finished). Unlike English, Chinese passive voice often carries a negative or adversative connotation — the action is usually undesirable. IGCSE examiners frequently test this.
否定形式:将“没(有)”放在“被”前:作业没被做完。与英语不同,汉语被动式常带消极或不如意的意味——动作往往不是说话人乐见的。这常是 IGCSE 考试的考点。
8. Comparison Theorems | 比较句定理
Chinese comparisons come in several formulaic patterns. The most common is the 比 structure: A + 比 + B + Adjective. This covers simple comparisons of inequality. 我比你高 means I am taller than you. Adverbs like 更 or 还 can intensify: 他比我还胖 (He is even fatter than me).
汉语比较句有几个公式化的结构。最常见的是“比”字结构:A + 比 + B + 形容词。这涵盖简单的差比句。我比你高意思是我比你高。程度副词如“更”或“还”可以强化:他比我还胖。
Negation: 不比 is used to deny a comparison, not to mean “less than”. For instance, 我不比你高 means I am not taller than you (perhaps the same height or shorter). To express “less than”, use 没有 or 不如: 我没有你高 (I am not as tall as you). The formula A + 没有 + B + Adj is a core IGCSE pattern.
否定式:“不比”用于否定比较,不表示“不如”。例如“我不比你高”意思是我并不比你高(可能一样高或更矮)。要表达“不如”,用“没有”或“不如”:我没有你高。公式 A + 没有 + B + Adj 是 IGCSE 的核心句型。
Equality comparison uses 和/跟...一样: A 跟 B 一样 + Adjective. 他跟我一样大 means He is as old as me. Negative: 不一样: 这本书跟那本书不一样 (This book is not the same as that one). Note the adjective can be omitted if you mean “the same”.
平比句用“和/跟……一样”:A 跟 B 一样 + 形容词。他跟我一样大意思是他和我一样大。否定式:不一样:这本书跟那本书不一样。注意如果表示“一样”,形容词可以省略。
9. 是...的 Emphasis Structure | 是...的 强调结构
This structure puts focus on the time, place, manner, or purpose of a past completed action. Formula: S + 是 + [focus element] + V + 的. The underlying action is already known; the new information is where, when, or how it happened.
此结构将焦点放在过去完成的动作的时间、地点、方式或目的上。公式:S + 是 + [焦点信息] + V + 的。动作本身对话双方已知,新信息是动作发生的地点、时间或方式。
For example, 我是昨天买的票 (It was yesterday that I bought the ticket). The focus is 昨天. 我们是在北京认识的 (We met in Beijing — it was in Beijing that we met). The 是 can be omitted in positive declarative sentences: 我昨天买的票, but it must appear in negative: 不是昨天买的票.
例如:我是昨天买的票。焦点在“昨天”。我们是在北京认识的。肯定的陈述句中可以省略“是”:我昨天买的票,但否定句必须出现“是”:不是昨天买的票。
This structure differs from the 被 construction and the simple SVO past. It cannot be used with 了₁ in the same clause, because the action is already established as past and completed implicitly. Questions: 你是跟谁一起去的? (Who did you go with?).
这个结构与“被”字句和简单 SVO 过去式都不同。它不能在同一个分句中与“了₁”一起用,因为动作已隐含为过去且完成的。疑问句:你是跟谁一起去的?
10. Compound Sentence Logic Gates | 复句逻辑关联词
Logical connectors in Chinese form pairs that function like logic gates. Mastering them is essential for writing and reading comprehension. The cause‑effect gate: 因为...所以... (because...so...). Although English avoids “because…so” together, Chinese requires both in many cases. Formula: 因为 + Reason, 所以 + Result.
汉语的逻辑连接词成对出现,如同逻辑门。掌握它们对写作与阅读理解至关重要。因果逻辑门:因为……所以……。尽管英语避免“because...so”同句出现,汉语在许多情况下两者都得用。公式:因为 + 原因,所以 + 结果。
Contrast gate: 虽然...但是... (although...but...). Again, both parts are used: 虽然下雨了,但是我们还是去了公园. Concessive gate: 即使...也... (even if...still...), 就算...也... . Condition gate: 如果...就... (if...then...); 要是...就... is more colloquial.
转折逻辑门:虽然……但是……。同样,两者都要使用:虽然下雨了,但是我们还是去了公园。让步逻辑门:即使……也……;就算……也……。条件逻辑门:如果……就……;“要是……就……”更口语化。
Progressive gate: 不但...而且... (not only...but also...). 他不但会说中文,而且会写汉字. Additive gate: 除了...以外,还/也... (besides...also...). Sequential gate: 先...然后... (first...then...), 一...就... (as soon as...). Each pair is a formula to be memorised as a chunk.
递进逻辑门:不但……而且……。他不但会说中文,而且会写汉字。附加逻辑门:除了……以外,还/也……。顺承逻辑门:先……然后……;一……就……。每一对都应当成整体公式来记忆。
11. Rhetorical Question Formula | 反问句公式
hinese use fixed patterns to reinforce a statement rather than seek an answer. The pattern 难道...吗? translates to “Could it be that...?” and strongly asserts the opposite. Formula: 难道 + [statement] + 吗? 难道你不知道吗? (Don’t tell me you don’t know? → You should know!).
汉语反问句用固定结构来加强语气,而不是寻求答案。结构“难道……吗?”相当于“难道……吗?”,用以强烈断定相反事实。公式:难道 + [陈述] + 吗?难道你不知道吗?(你该知道的!)
Another common rhetorical pattern is 不是...吗? (Isn’t it the case that...?). 不是明天考试吗? (Isn’t the exam tomorrow? → I’m sure it is). The negative form here actually conveys a positive emphasis. Also, 怎么/哪里 + verb expresses “how could it be that...”: 我怎么会忘呢? (How could I forget? → I won’t).
另一个常见反问结构是“不是……吗?”。不是明天考试吗?(我确信考试就是明天)。这里的否定形式实际上传达了肯定的强调。同样,“怎么/哪里 + 动词”表示“怎么会……”:我怎么会忘呢?(我不会忘)。
The particle 呢 can also form a rhetorical question when attached to a noun/subject: 我的书呢? (What about my book?). In context, 你才18岁,着什么急呢? (You are only 18, what’s the rush?). These patterns carry an emotional charge.
语气词“呢”粘附在名词/主语后也可构成反问:我的书呢?(我的书去哪儿了?)。在语境中,你才18岁,着什么急呢?(不必急)。这些结构带有感情色彩。
12. Writing Structure Master Theorem | 写作结构总定理
For IGCSE composition, a powerful organising formula is the “General – Specific – General” (总—分—总) theorem. Introduction: state your main idea or opinion. Body (Specific): use 2–3 well‑developed paragraphs, each starting with a clear topic sentence and supported by examples or evidence. Conclusion (General): restate the thesis and offer a final thought.
在 IGCSE 写作中,一个有力的结构公式是“总—分—总”定理。开头:陈述你的主要观点或立场。正文(分):用两至三个内容充实的段落,每段以清晰的主题句开头,并用例子或论据支撑。结尾(总):重申论点并给出最终思考。
Memorise the paragraph formula: 主题句 + 解释 + 例子/数字 + 回扣主题. For instance, when arguing “Learning Chinese is rewarding”, a paragraph might start: 首先,学习中文能打开新的文化大门。Then explain how, give a concrete example (e.g. reading a poem by Li Bai), and tie back. This micro‑structure repeats for each body paragraph.
记住段落公式:主题句 + 解释 + 例子/数据 + 回扣主题。例如,论述“学习中文很有价值”时,一个段落可以这样开头:首先,学习中文能打开新的文化大门。然后解释,给出具体例子(如读一首李白诗),最后回扣主题。这一微观结构在每个正文段落中重复。
Discourse markers from the compound‑sentence logic gates become your linking threads: 首先...其次...最后..., 除此之外, 因此, 然而. Use them clearly. Practise applying this theorem to past IGCSE writing prompts, and your essay will instantly gain clarity and coherence.
复句逻辑关联词就成了你的衔接线:首先……其次……最后……,除此之外,因此,然而。要明确使用它们。用此定理练习往届 IGCSE 写作题,你的作文会立刻变得清晰连贯。
