Starting Year 10 Media Studies is about training your eyes and ears to see and hear the media world in a new way. You will move from being a passive consumer to becoming an active analyst and creator - someone who can explain not only what a text says, but how it says it, who it is aimed at, and why it was made that way.

2. What is Media Studies? | 什么是媒体研究？
Media Studies is the academic study of a wide range of media forms: television, film, newspapers, magazines, advertising, music videos, video games, radio, and online and social media. It focuses not on whether a text is 'good' or 'bad', but on how it communicates meaning, how it represents people and places, how it targets audiences, and how the industry works.

A media text is any product designed to communicate with an audience, from a two-second logo sting to a three-hour documentary. Treating all of them as texts you can analyse - rather than as things you simply consume - is the moment Media Studies really begins.

3. The CCEA GCSE Course at a Glance | CCEA GCSE 课程概览
CCEA is the awarding body for Northern Ireland, and its GCSE Media Studies is normally built around three units: two externally examined units and one non-exam assessment, usually a practical production portfolio with an evaluative element. In Northern Ireland, GCSE study typically begins in Year 11, which is exactly why the summer after Year 10 is such a valuable bridge.
