欢迎阅读这份 Year 8 SQA 化学核心知识点梳理。本文围绕苏格兰课程要求,将粒子模型、原子结构、化学反应以及日常应用等重点内容进行整理,帮助你构建扎实的知识体系,从容应对学习与复习,认识化学如何解释身边的种种现象。
1. States of Matter | 物质的状态
Matter exists in three common states on Earth: solid, liquid and gas. Solids have a fixed shape and volume because particles are packed closely in a regular arrangement, vibrating in fixed positions. Liquids have a fixed volume but take the shape of their container, with particles close together but able to move past one another. Gases have no fixed shape or volume; particles are far apart, move rapidly, and fill any available space.
地球上常见的物质状态有三种:固态、液态和气态。固体有固定的形状和体积,因为粒子紧密排列在规则结构中,只能在固定位置振动。液体有固定体积但会随容器改变形状,粒子彼此靠近但可以相对滑动。气体没有固定的形状和体积,粒子相距很远,快速运动并充满整个空间。
| State | Shape | Volume | Particle arrangement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solid | Fixed | Fixed | Regular, very close |
| Liquid | Not fixed | Fixed | Irregular, close |
| Gas | Not fixed | Not fixed | Random, far apart |
2. Particle Theory and Changes | 粒子理论与变化
The particle model explains how matter behaves during changes of state. Melting occurs when a solid is heated and particles gain enough energy to break free from fixed positions; this happens at a specific melting point. Boiling takes place at the boiling point, where particles throughout the liquid have sufficient energy to overcome forces of attraction completely. Evaporation can happen at any temperature from the surface of a liquid. Condensation and freezing are reverse processes where particles lose energy and come closer together.
粒子模型可以解释物质在状态变化时的行为。固体受热熔化,粒子获得足够能量挣脱固定位置,这一过程发生在特定的熔点。沸腾在沸点进行,液体内部各处粒子都有足够能量完全克服吸引力。蒸发则是在任意温度下从液体表面发生。冷凝和凝固是相反的过程,粒子失去能量并彼此靠近。
Diffusion is strong evidence for the particle model. When a gas or liquid spreads out from an area of high concentration to low concentration, we observe diffusion, which happens because particles are in constant random motion. The rate of diffusion increases at higher temperatures.
扩散现象是粒子理论的有力证据。气体或液体从高浓度区域向低浓度区域扩散,正是粒子无规则运动的体现。温度越高,扩散速率越快。
3. Elements, Compounds and Mixtures | 元素、化合物与混合物
An element is a substance made of only one type of atom, such as oxygen (O₂) or iron (Fe). Elements are listed on the Periodic Table and cannot be broken down into simpler substances by chemical means. A compound contains two or more different elements chemically joined in fixed proportions, for example water (H₂O) and carbon dioxide (CO₂). A mixture consists of two or more substances (elements or compounds) that are physically combined but not chemically bonded; air and salt solution are common mixtures.
元素是由同一种原子组成的物质,例如氧气(O₂)或铁(Fe)。元素列在元素周期表中,不能用化学方法分解成更简单的物质。化合物含有两种或多种不同元素,通过化学键按固定比例结合,如水(H₂O)和二氧化碳(CO₂)。混合物由两种或多种物质(元素或化合物)物理混合而成,没有形成化学键;空气和盐水是常见的混合物。
Compounds have properties that are usually very different from the elements that form them. Sodium (a reactive metal) and chlorine (a poisonous gas) combine to form sodium chloride – harmless table salt. Mixtures keep the properties of their components, and they can often be separated by physical techniques such as filtration or distillation.
化合物的性质通常与构成它的元素截然不同。钠(一种活泼金属)和氯(一种有毒气体)结合生成氯化钠——无害的食盐。混合物保留各组分的性质,并且通常可以通过过滤或蒸馏等物理方法进行分离。
4. Introduction to Atomic Structure | 原子结构简介
Atoms are the smallest particles of an element that still show the chemical properties of that element. Every atom has a tiny central nucleus containing positively charged protons and neutral neutrons. Electrons are negatively charged and orbit the nucleus in shells. The number of protons (atomic number) determines which element an atom is.
原子是元素的最小粒子,仍能体现该元素的化学性质。每个原子都有一个微小的中心原子核,核内有带正电的质子和不带电的中子。电子带负电,在电子层中绕核运动。质子数目(原子序数)决定了原子属于哪种元素。
| Particle | Relative charge | Relative mass | Position |
|---|---|---|---|
| Proton | +1 | 1 | Nucleus |
| Neutron | 0 | 1 | Nucleus |
| Electron | −1 | ≈ 0 (negligible) | Shells outside nucleus |
Atoms are neutral overall because the number of protons equals the number of electrons. The mass number tells us the total number of protons and neutrons. For a simple example, a carbon atom with a mass number of 12 has 6 protons and 6 neutrons, and therefore 6 electrons.
原子整体呈电中性,因为质子数等于电子数。质量数表示质子数与中子数之和。举一个简单例子,质量数为12的碳原子有6个质子和6个中子,因此也有6个电子。
5. The Periodic Table | 元素周期表
The Periodic Table organises all known elements in order of increasing atomic number. Elements are arranged in vertical groups and horizontal periods. Elements in the same group have the same number of electrons in their outer shell and therefore show similar chemical properties. For instance, Group 1 elements (alkali metals) are all highly reactive metals that readily lose one electron.
元素周期表按原子序数递增的顺序排列所有已知元素。纵列称为族,横行称为周期。同族元素最外层电子数相同,因此具有相似的化学性质。例如,第1族元素(碱金属)都是极易失去一个电子的高反应活性金属。
At Year 8 level you will mainly focus on the first 20 elements, along with common ones like iron (Fe), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn) and bromine (Br). You should be able to locate metals and non‑metals, recognise that metals lie to the left and centre, and that non‑metals are on the right-hand side.
在 Year 8 阶段,你主要学习前20号元素以及一些常见元素,如铁(Fe)、铜(Cu)、锌(Zn)和溴(Br)。你需要能够区分金属与非金属,知道金属位于周期表的左侧和中央,非金属位于右侧。
Group 1: Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs — one outer electron
Group 7: F, Cl, Br, I — seven outer electrons
Group 0/8: He, Ne, Ar — full outer shell, very unreactive
6. Chemical Formulae and Equations | 化学式与方程式
A chemical formula tells us the types and numbers of atoms in a compound. Subscript numbers show how many atoms of each element are present. For example, H₂SO₄ shows two hydrogen atoms, one sulfur atom and four oxygen atoms. You should become confident writing formulae for common compounds such as NaCl, H₂O, CO₂, Na₂CO₃ and CuSO₄.
化学式表示化合物中原子的种类和数目。下标数字表示每种元素的原子个数。例如,H₂SO₄ 表示两个氢原子、一个硫原子和四个氧原子。你需要熟练掌握书写常见化合物的化学式,如 NaCl、H₂O、CO₂、Na₂CO₃ 和 CuSO₄。
m oxide. A balanced symbol equation shows the formulae and uses coefficients to ensure the same number of each type of atom appears on both sides. At this stage, you focus on word equations and begin to interpret symbol equations.
文字方程式用物质名称表示化学反应的反应物和生成物。例如:镁 + 氧气 → 氧化镁。配平的符号方程式则使用化学式,并通过系数确保各类原子在反应前后总数相同。现阶段你主要练习文字方程式,并开始学习解读符号方程式。
Example: 2 H₂ + O₂ → 2 H₂O
7. Types of Chemical Reactions | 化学反应的类型
Chemical reactions can be grouped into several common types. In a combustion reaction, a substance reacts with oxygen, releasing energy as heat and light. Complete combustion of fuels such as methane (CH₄) produces carbon dioxide and water. Incomplete combustion occurs when oxygen is limited, producing carbon monoxide (CO) or carbon (soot).
化学反应可以分为几种常见类型。在燃烧反应中,物质与氧气反应,以热和光的形式释放能量。甲烷(CH₄)等燃料的完全燃烧生成二氧化碳和水。当氧气不足时发生不完全燃烧,会生成一氧化碳(CO)或碳(炭黑)。
sodium chloride + water. Displacement reactions occur when a more reactive element pushes out a less reactive element from its compound, like iron displacing copper from copper sulfate solution.
中和反应是酸与碱(或碱性物质)反应生成盐和水的过程。例如:盐酸 + 氢氧化钠 → 氯化钠 + 水。置换反应发生在较活泼的元素从其化合物中取代出较不活泼的元素时,比如铁从硫酸铜溶液中置换出铜。
You will also meet decomposition reactions, where a single compound breaks down into simpler substances, often with heating. Thermal decomposition of calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) gives calcium oxide (CaO) and carbon dioxide (CO₂).
你还会遇到分解反应,即一种化合物分解成较简单物质,通常需要加热。碳酸钙(CaCO₃)受热分解生成氧化钙(CaO)和二氧化碳(CO₂)。
8. Acids and Alkalis | 酸与碱
Acids contain hydrogen and produce hydrogen ions (H⁺) when dissolved in water. Common laboratory acids include hydrochloric acid (HCl), sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) and nitric acid (HNO₃). Alkalis are soluble bases that produce hydroxide ions (OH⁻) in water; sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is a typical example. The pH scale, ranging from 0 to 14, measures how acidic or alkaline a solution is.
酸含有氢元素,溶于水时产生氢离子(H⁺)。实验室常见的酸有盐酸(HCl)、硫酸(H₂SO₄)和硝酸(HNO₃)。碱是能溶于水的氢氧化物,在水中产生氢氧根离子(OH⁻);氢氧化钠(NaOH)是典型例子。pH 值范围从0到14,用于衡量溶液的酸碱性。
d for strong acid through green for neutral to purple for strong alkali. Neutralisation is an important reaction where acid + alkali → salt + water.
指示剂会根据 pH 变化而变色。石蕊在酸性溶液中变红,在碱性溶液中变蓝;通用指示剂则呈现出从强酸的红色、中性的绿色到强碱的紫色等一系列颜色。中和反应是重要的化学反应,酸 + 碱 → 盐 + 水。
pH < 7 acidic; pH = 7 neutral; pH > 7 alkaline
9. Separation Techniques | 分离技术
Different mixtures require different separation methods, depending on physical properties such as particle size, boiling point and solubility. Filtration separates an insoluble solid from a liquid by passing the mixture through filter paper; the solid stays as residue while the liquid (filtrate) passes through.
不同混合物需要根据粒径、沸点和溶解性等物理性质选用不同的分离方法。过滤用于将不溶性固体与液体分离,将混合物通过滤纸,固体留在滤纸上成为残渣,液体(滤液)则通过。
Evaporation and crystallisation are used to obtain a soluble solid from a solution. Evaporating the solvent leaves the solid behind; crystallisation involves gently heating a solution until crystals form upon cooling. Simple distillation separates a solvent from a solution by boiling and condensing; fractional distillation separates two or more liquids with different boiling points.
蒸发和结晶用于从溶液中获得可溶性固体。将溶剂蒸发掉可得到固体;结晶则是缓慢加热溶液,冷却后晶体会析出。简单蒸馏通过沸腾和冷凝将溶剂从溶液中分离出来;分馏则可以分离两种或多种沸点不同的液体。
Chromatography separates substances based on their different attractions to a stationary phase and a mobile phase. It is often used to separate coloured inks or dyes. Paper chromatography can show how many different substances are present in a mixture.
色谱法利用物质对固定相和流动相的不同亲和力来分离物质,常用于分离彩色墨水或染料。纸色谱法可以显示混合物中含有多少种不同的物质。
10. Chemistry in Everyday Life | 化学与日常生活
Chemistry is not limited to the laboratory – it is essential for understanding the materials and processes that shape daily life. Metals like iron, aluminium and copper are chosen for specific uses based on their properties: iron is strong and magnetic, aluminium is light and resistant to corrosion, while copper conducts electricity well and is used in wiring.
化学并不局限于实验室,它对于理解日常生活中的各种材料和过程至关重要。铁、铝、铜等金属根据各自的性质被用于不同场合:铁坚固且有磁性,铝轻巧且耐腐蚀,铜导电性好,用于电线。
Polymers and plastics are long-chain molecules made from joining together many small monomers. Natural polymers include wool and cotton; synthetic polymers such as polythene are used for bags and bottles. Understanding their properties helps us choose correct materials and reduce environmental impact through recycling.
聚合物和塑料是由许多小分子单体连接而成的长链分子。天然聚合物包括羊毛和棉花;合成聚合物如聚乙烯用于制造袋子和瓶子。了解它们的性质有助于我们选择合适的材料,并通过回收减少对环境的影响。
Food chemistry tells us that cooking brings about chemical changes – proteins denature, carbohydrates caramelise, and baking powder (sodium hydrogen carbonate) decomposes to release carbon dioxide, helping cakes rise. Fertiliser production and the rusting of iron are further examples of chemistry at work in the wider world.
食品化学告诉我们,烹饪过程中会发生化学变化——蛋白质变性,碳水化合物焦糖化,而发酵粉(碳酸氢钠)分解产生二氧化碳,帮助蛋糕膨胀。化肥的生产和铁的生锈也是化学在现实世界中作用的例子。
