欢迎开启七年级 OCR 化学之旅!本暑期衔接课程旨在带你走进奇妙的化学世界,确保你在九月开学时自信满满、顺利起步。你将探索核心基础概念——从实验室安全、科学探究方法直到构成物质的基本粒子——同时培养 OCR KS3 课程乃至更高阶段所需的思维能力。
1. Why a Summer Chemistry Bridge? | 为什么需要暑期化学衔接?
Moving from primary science to secondary chemistry is a big step. The OCR programme expects you not only to recall facts but also to apply ideas, interpret data and carry out practical work safely. A summer bridge keeps your mind active, closes any knowledge gaps, and turns nervous first-day butterflies into eager curiosity. Spending just two to three hours a week on key concepts gives you a head start without overwhelming your holiday.
从小学科学过渡到中学化学是一个大跳跃。OCR 课程不仅要求你记忆事实,还要求你能应用概念、解释数据并安全地动手实验。暑期衔接能让你的思维保持活跃,填补知识空缺,把开学第一天的紧张不安转化为热切的好奇心。每周只需花两三个小时消化关键概念,就能让你领先一步,而不会占据整个假期。
2. Safety First in the Lab | 实验室安全第一
Every chemist must respect the laboratory. Always wear safety goggles and a lab coat, tie back long hair, and never eat or drink in the lab. Learn to recognise hazard symbols such as corrosive, flammable and toxic. If you spill anything, tell your teacher immediately. A safe scientist is a successful scientist.
每一位化学家都必须尊重实验室。始终佩戴护目镜和实验服,扎起长发,绝不在实验室饮食。学会识别腐蚀性、易燃和有毒等危险标志。如果洒出任何东西,立即告诉老师。安全的科学家才是成功的科学家。
3. The Scientific Method & Enquiry | 科学方法与探究
Chemistry is built on asking questions, making predictions (hypotheses), designing fair tests, collecting data and drawing conclusions. In Year 7 you will often change one independent variable, measure the dependent variable and control all others. Write clear methods and present results in tables and graphs. Always evaluate your experiment—what worked well and what could be improved?
化学建立在提出问题、作出预测(假设)、设计公平实验、收集数据和得出结论之上。七年级时,你通常只会改变一个自变量,测量因变量,并控制其他所有变量。编写清晰的实验步骤,用表格和图表呈现结果。始终对实验进行评估——哪些做得好,哪些可以改进?
4. States of Matter | 物质的状态
Everything around you is matter, existing mainly as solid, liquid or gas. Solids have a fixed shape and volume because particles are tightly packed in a regular pattern, only vibrating. Liquids have a fixed volume but take the shape of their container; particles are close but can slide past each other. Gases have no fixed shape or volume; particles are far apart and move quickly in all directions. Changes of state—melting, freezing, boiling, condensing, sublimation—are physical changes, not chemical ones.
你身边的一切都是物质,主要以固态、液态或气态存在。固体有固定的形状和体积,因为粒子紧密排列成规则结构,只能在原位振动。液体有固定体积,但形状随容器而变;粒子紧靠但能相互滑动。气体没有固定的形状和体积;粒子相距很远,朝各个方向快速运动。状态的改变——熔化、凝固、沸腾、冷凝、升华——是物理变化,不是化学变化。
5. Atoms: The Building Blocks | 原子:构成万物的积木
An atom is the smallest particle of an element that can exist. Every atom has a central nucleus containing protons (positive) and neutrons (neutral), surrounded by tiny electrons (negative) whizzing around in shells. The number of protons determines which element it is. For example, hydrogen has 1 proton, carbon has 6, oxygen has 8. Atoms are mostly empty space!
原子是元素能够存在的最小粒子。每个原子都有一个由质子(带正电)和中子(不带电)组成的中央原子核,周围有微小的电子(带负电)在电子层内飞速运动。质子数决定了它是哪种元素。例如,氢有 1 个质子,碳有 6 个,氧有 8 个。原子内部绝大部分是空的!
6. Elements, Compounds and Mixtures | 元素、化合物与混合物
An element is a substance made from only one type of atom, like iron (Fe) or gold (Au), and is listed on the Periodic Table. A compound contains two or more different elements chemically bonded together, such as water (H₂O) or carbon dioxide (CO₂). A mixture contains different substances jumbled together but not chemically joined—like air or sand and salt. The properties of a compound are completely different from the elements it contains.
元素是仅由一种原子组成的物质,如铁 (Fe) 或金 (Au),都列在元素周期表中。化合物含有两种或更多不同元素通过化学键结合在一起,如水 (H₂O) 或二氧化碳 (CO₂)。混合物是不同物质掺混在一起但未化学结合——比如空气,或沙子和盐。化合物的性质与组成它的元素完全不同。
7. The Periodic Table – A Map of Elements | 元素周期表——元素地图
The OCR course introduces the Periodic Table as a grid where elements are arranged by increasing atomic (proton) number. Vertical columns are called groups; elements in the same group have similar chemical properties. Horizontal rows are periods. Metals sit on the left and centre, non-metals on the right. You will meet key groups such as Group 1 (alkali metals), Group 7 (halogens) and Group 0 (noble gases) in later topics, but start by recognising the first 20 elements.
OCR 课程将元素周期表介绍为一个网格,元素按原子序数(质子数)递增排列。竖列称为族;同一族的元素具有相似的化学性质。横行称为周期。金属位于左侧和中间,非金属位于右侧。后续课题中你会接触到第一族(碱金属)、第七族(卤素)和零族(稀有气体)等重要族,但首先要认准前 20 号元素。
8. Physical and Chemical Changes | 物理变化与化学变化
In a physical change, no new substance is made—the material may change shape, state or be dissolved, but its particles stay the same. Cutting paper, melting ice or dissolving sugar in water are physical changes. In a chemical change, new substances are formed with different properties, and the change is often hard to reverse. Signs include colour change, temperature change, gas bubbles (effervescence) or a precipitate forming. Burning magnesium ribbon or rusting iron are chemical changes.
物理变化中没有新物质生成——材料可能改变形状、状态或被溶解,但它的粒子保持不变。剪纸、冰熔化或糖溶于水都是物理变化。化学变化中则生成具有不同性质的新物质,且往往难以逆转。迹象包括颜色变化、温度变化、气泡产生(冒泡)或沉淀生成。镁带燃烧或铁生锈都是化学变化。
9. Simple Word Equations | 简单的文字方程式
+ oxygen → magnesium oxide shows what we start with and what we end with. The arrow means 'reacts to form' ons is a core skill in Year 7. Practice by turning observed reactions into word equations.
为了描述化学反应,OCR 使用文字方程式:左边是反应物,箭头之后是生成物。例如,镁 + 氧气 → 氧化镁表示起始物和最终产物。箭头意为“反应生成”。学会书写和解读这些方程式是七年级的核心技能。通过将观察到的反应转化为文字方程式来练习。
10. Acids, Alkalis and Indicators | 酸、碱与指示剂
Acids are substances with a sour taste (never taste in the lab!) that turn blue litmus paper red; common lab acids include hydrochloric, sulfuric and nitric acids. Alkalis are soluble bases that feel soapy and turn red litmus paper blue. The pH scale measures how acidic or alkaline a solution is, from 0 (strong acid) to 14 (strong alkali), with 7 being neutral. Universal indicator gives a rainbow of colours across the pH scale.
酸是尝起来酸味(绝不可在实验室品尝!)、使蓝色石蕊试纸变红的物质;常见实验室酸包括盐酸、硫酸和硝酸。碱是可溶的碱,手感滑腻,能使红色石蕊试纸变蓝。pH 标度衡量溶液的酸碱性,从 0(强酸)到 14(强碱),7 为中性。万能指示剂能在 pH 标度上呈现彩虹般的颜色变化。
11. Separation Techniques | 分离技术
Chemists separate mixtures using physical methods that exploit differences in properties. Filtration separates an insoluble solid from a liquid (sand from water). Evaporation recovers a dissolved solid from a solution (salt from salt water). Distillation separates a solvent from a solution by boiling and condensing the vapour. Chromatography separates dissolved substances, such as the dyes in ink, based on how they travel up paper.
化学家利用性质的差异,通过物理方法分离混合物。过滤可以将不溶性固体从液体中分离(沙子和水)。蒸发可以从溶液中回收溶解的固体(从盐水中得到盐)。蒸馏通过沸腾和冷凝蒸气,将溶剂从溶液中分离。色谱法根据溶解物质在纸上爬升的快慢分离它们,例如墨水中的色素。
12. Building Habits for a Brilliant Year 7 | 为精彩的七年级培养好习惯
Success in OCR Chemistry is not just about content—it's about curiosity, regular review and neat recording. Keep a small notebook for key vocabulary (atom, element, compound, mixture, reaction). Spend 15 minutes twice a week reading your notes aloud or sketching particle diagrams. Watch a simple experiment video and write down the steps in your own words. These tiny habits make a huge difference.
OCR 化学的成功不只在于知识内容——还关乎好奇心、定期复习和工整的记录。准备一个小本子记录核心词汇(原子、元素、化合物、混合物、反应)。每周两次,每次花 15 分钟大声朗读笔记或画出粒子模型。观看一个简单实验视频,并用你自己的话写下步骤。这些微小的习惯会带来巨大的不同。
