欢迎从小学升入中学!在你开始 Year 7 之际,AQA 英语文学课程将带你穿越故事、诗歌和戏剧,踏上一段激动人心的旅程。这份指南将帮助你了解未来的学习内容、如何准备,以及如何在新英语课上脱颖而出。从 Year 6 过渡到中学阶段可能会让你觉得是一个大跨越,但只要方法正确,你很快就会发现文学学习是多么迷人且富有收获。
1. What is AQA English Literature in Year 7? | 什么是 Year 7 的 AQA 英语文学?
AQA is one of the major examination boards in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, working alongside OCR, Pearson Edexcel and Eduqas. It writes the specifications, set text lists and mark schemes that thousands of secondary schools follow, so the skills you practise now are the same skills that will be examined in Year 11.
AQA 是英格兰、威尔士和北爱尔兰的主要考试局之一,与 OCR、Pearson Edexcel 和 Eduqas 并列。它负责编写教学大纲、指定文本清单和评分标准,成千上万的中学都遵循它的要求,因此你现在练习的技能,正是 Year 11 考试要考查的技能。
In Year 7 you will not sit a GCSE exam, but your school follows the AQA framework to build the skills you will need later. You will study a range of texts from different time periods and cultures, including classic and modern works - nineteenth-century novels, contemporary short stories, war poetry, Shakespeare and modern drama.
在 Year 7,你不会参加 GCSE 考试,但学校会遵循 AQA 框架,以培养你日后所需的技能。你将学习来自不同时期和文化的一系列文本,包括经典作品与现代作品——十九世纪小说、当代短篇小说、战争诗歌、莎士比亚戏剧和现代戏剧。
The overall journey looks like this, and Year 7 is the very first step:
整体的学习路径如下所示,而 Year 7 正是第一步:
Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) → GCSE (Years 10-11) → A Level (Years 12-13)
| Stage | 阶段 | Years | 年级 | Main Focus | 主要目标 |
| Key Stage 3 | 7-9 | Build reading, analysis and writing skills | 建立阅读、分析与写作技能 |
| GCSE | 10-11 | Closed-book exams on set texts | 对指定文本进行闭卷考试 |
| A Level | 12-13 | Independent critical interpretation | 独立的文学批评与解读 |
What matters in Year 7 is not the final grade but the habits: reading widely, annotating actively, and writing about texts with evidence rather than opinion alone.
Year 7 真正重要的不是最终成绩,而是习惯:广泛阅读、主动做批注,以及用证据而不是单纯的个人观感来讨论文本。
2. The Jump from Year 6 to Year 7: What Actually Changes? | 从 Year 6 到 Year 7:究竟有哪些变化?
In primary school, English lessons usually focus on phonics, comprehension and short extracts, often with plenty of teacher support and a reading journal. At secondary level, you are expected to read whole texts, sustain an argument across several paragraphs, and work independently between lessons.
在小学阶段,英语课通常聚焦自然拼读、阅读理解和短篇片段,老师支持较多,还会让你写阅读日志。到了中学,你需要读整本书、把论点延续好几个段落,并在课与课之间独立学习。
Lessons also change shape. You will usually have one English teacher for the whole year, sitting in a specialist classroom, with homework set to a deadline and marked against explicit criteria. The pace is faster and the expectations are clearer.
课堂形式也会改变。你通常会有一位固定的英语老师任教一整年,在专门的教室里上课,作业有明确的截止日期,并按照清晰的评分标准批改。节奏更快,要求也更明确。
| Area | 方面 | Year 6 | Year 6 的做法 | Year 7 | Year 7 的做法 |
None of this is designed to catch you out. It is designed to move you from describing what happens in a text to explaining how the writer makes you think and feel.
这一切并不是为了难倒你,而是为了让你从"描述文本发生了什么"走向"解释作者如何让读者产生这样的想法和感受"。
3. Stories: Reading and Analysing Fiction | 故事:阅读与分析小说
Year 7 fiction work usually begins with short stories before moving to a full novel. Your teacher will ask you to track plot, character, setting and theme, but the real target is narrative method: who is telling the story, in what order, and what the reader is allowed to know.
Year 7 的小说学习通常先从短篇故事开始,再进入整本小说。老师会要求你梳理情节、人物、背景和主题,但真正的目标是叙事手法:谁在讲述故事、按什么顺序讲述,以及读者被允许知道什么。
When you annotate, do more than underline. Write a short comment in the margin that answers the question "so what?" - why did the writer choose that word, that image, that pause?
做批注时不要只划横线。在页边写一句简短的评论,回答"那又怎样?"这个问题——作者为什么选这个词、这个意象、这个停顿?
- Plot and structure: exposition, rising action, climax, resolution. | 情节与结构:开端、发展、高潮、结局。
- Narrative voice: first person "I", third person limited, omniscient. | 叙事视角:第一人称"我"、第三人称限知、全知视角。
- Characterisation: what a character does, says, and how others react. | 人物塑造:人物做了什么、说了什么,他人如何反应。
- Setting and atmosphere: weather, light, time of day, place. | 背景与氛围:天气、光线、时段、地点。
- Theme and motif: recurring ideas such as power, loss, identity, family. | 主题与母题:权力、失去、身份、家庭等反复出现的观念。
A reliable paragraph structure for analysis is: point, evidence, method, effect on the reader. Written as a formula:
分析段落可靠的结构是:论点、证据、手法、对读者的效果。用公式表示即:
Point → Evidence → Technique → Effect = PETE
If you can do this confidently with a short story in October, you will find the whole-class novel much easier in the spring term.
如果你能在十月就自信地用这个结构分析短篇故事,那么到了春季学期读整本小说时就会轻松得多。
4. Poetry: Sound, Imagery and Meaning | 诗歌:声音、意象与含义
Poetry rewards slow reading. Read a poem three times: once for the story, once for the sound, once for the images. Only then start writing about how the poet creates a particular mood.
诗歌奖励慢读。一首诗要读三遍:第一遍读大意,第二遍听声音,第三遍看意象。然后才开始分析诗人如何营造某种情绪。
You will meet a core set of terms that reappear right through to GCSE, so learn them properly now with examples you can remember.
你会遇到一套贯穿到 GCSE 的核心术语,所以现在就要把它们和你能记住的例子一起学扎实。
- Form: sonnet, ballad, free verse, dramatic monologue. | 形式:十四行诗、民谣、自由诗、戏剧独白。
- Structure: stanza, line break, enjambment, refrain, volta (turn). | 结构:诗节、断行、跨行连续、叠句、转折。
- Sound: rhyme scheme, rhythm, alliteration, assonance, sibilance, onomatopoeia. | 声音:韵式、节奏、头韵、元音韵、齿音、拟声。
- Imagery: simile, metaphor, extended metaphor, personification, symbolism. | 意象:明喻、暗喻、延伸隐喻、拟人、象征。
- Tone: nostalgic, bitter, celebratory, ironic, elegiac. | 语气:怀旧、苦涩、欢庆、讽刺、哀悼。
Rhyme schemes are labelled with letters, so a four-line stanza rhyming alternately is written as:
韵式用字母标注,四行诗交替押韵可以写作:
ABAB CDCD EFEF GG
That pattern is the Shakespearean sonnet: three quatrains of 4 lines plus a rhyming couplet, 14 lines in total, usually 10 syllables per line in iambic pentameter.
这就是莎士比亚十四行诗的模式:三个四行诗节加上一个对句,共 14 行,每行通常为 10 个音节的抑扬格五音步。
5. Drama and Shakespeare: Reading Plays Aloud | 戏剧与莎士比亚:朗读剧本
Plays are written to be performed, not just read. In Year 7 you will often read scripts aloud in role, which is the fastest way to notice how dialogue creates tension and how characters reveal themselves through what they do not say.
戏剧是为演出而写,而不仅仅是用来阅读的。在 Year 7,你常常会分角色朗读剧本,这是察觉对话如何制造张力、人物如何通过"没说出口的话"暴露自己的最快方法。
Shakespeare can look difficult on the page, but the meaning usually arrives when the line is spoken with feeling. Treat unfamiliar words as puzzles rather than barriers, and use the notes and glossary in your edition.
莎士比亚的文本放在纸面上可能显得困难,但当台词被带着情绪念出来时,意思通常就浮现了。把陌生词汇当作谜题而不是障碍,并善用你所用版本的注释和词汇表。
- Stage directions: the writer's instructions about movement, lighting, sound and props. | 舞台指示:作者对走位、灯光、音效和道具的说明。
- Dialogue and aside: speech between characters versus a remark only the audience hears. | 对白与旁白:人物之间的对话,与只有观众听得见的插话。
- Soliloquy: a character speaking alone on stage, revealing private thoughts. | 独白:人物独自在台上说话,袒露内心想法。
- Dramatic irony: the audience knows something a character does not. | 戏剧性反讽:观众知道而人物不知道的信息。
- Context: the world of the play versus the world of the writer. | 语境:剧作所设定的世界与作者所处的世界。
One useful habit: keep a "three-quote sheet" for each act, with a short quotation, who says it, and one sentence on why it matters.
一个好习惯:为每一幕做一张"三句引文表",写下一条短引文、是谁说的,以及一句话说明它为何重要。
6. The Key Skills: Reading, Analysis, Writing and Speaking | 核心技能:阅读、分析、写作与表达
Every task in Year 7 English Literature develops one or more of the assessment objectives that AQA uses at GCSE. Knowing their names early gives you a vocabulary for your own progress.
Year 7 英语文学的每一项任务,都在培养 AQA 在 GCSE 阶段使用的某一项或多项评估目标。早点知道它们的名称,你就能用自己的语言描述进步。
- AO1: Respond to the text, use textual evidence, maintain a clear argument. | AO1:回应文本、使用文本证据、保持清晰的论证。
- AO2: Analyse language, form and structure, and the effects created. | AO2:分析语言、形式与结构,以及所产生的效果。
- AO3: Show understanding of the relationships between texts and their contexts. | AO3:理解文本与其语境之间的关系。
- AO4: Use accurate spelling, punctuation, grammar and vocabulary. | AO4:使用准确的拼写、标点、语法和词汇。
At GCSE, a Shakespeare question is worth 34 marks, distributed like this:
在 GCSE 阶段,一道莎士比亚题目满分 34 分,分值分布如下:
AO1 12 + AO2 12 + AO3 6 + AO4 4 = 34 marks
Notice that AO2 carries the same weight as AO1. That single fact explains why Year 7 teachers push so hard on "how" questions rather than "what happens next" questions.
注意 AO2 与 AO1 分值相同。这一事实本身就解释了为什么 Year 7 的老师如此强调"如何写"的问题,而不是"接下来发生了什么"。
7. Assessment in Year 7: How You Will Be Marked | Year 7 的评估方式
Year 7 assessment is mostly formative, meaning it exists to guide the next piece of work rather than to produce a final grade. You may still see a mark or a level, but the most useful part is always the comment.
Year 7 的评估以形成性为主,也就是说它的作用是指导下一步学习,而不是给出最终成绩。你仍可能看到分数或等级,但最有价值的部分永远是评语。
| Type | 类型 | What it looks like | 具体形式 | Purpose | 目的 |
| Baseline | 基线测试 | Reading and writing tasks in September | 九月的读写任务 | Identify strengths and gaps | 找出优势与缺口 |
| Formative | 形成性 | Classwork, homework, quizzes | 课堂作业、家庭作业、小测 | Adjust teaching and practice | 调整教学与练习 |
| Summative | 终结性 | End-of-unit analytical essay | 单元结束的分析性文章 | Check secure understanding | 检验是否真正掌握 |
| Spoken | 口语 | Presentation, drama performance, discussion | 演讲、戏剧表演、讨论 | Develop confident expression | 培养自信的表达 |
When you get work back, do not simply read the mark. Rewrite one paragraph using the feedback, then keep both versions in your book so you can see the improvement.
拿到批改后的作业时,不要只看分数。根据反馈重写一个段落,并把两个版本都留在本子上,这样你就能看到自己的进步。
8. Building the Bridge: An Eight-Week Preparation Plan | 搭建桥梁:八周准备计划
The summer between Year 6 and Year 7 is the perfect time to build habits quietly, without pressure. Twenty to thirty minutes a day is far more effective than one long session at the end of August.
Year 6 与 Year 7 之间的暑假,是悄悄建立习惯的最佳时机,而且完全不必有压力。每天二十分钟到半小时,远比八月底突击一次有效得多。
| Week | 周次 | Focus | 重点任务 |
| 1 | Read one short story a day; write a two-sentence summary | 每天读一篇短篇故事,写两句摘要 |
| 2 | Learn 10 literary terms and find an example of each | 学会 10 个文学术语并各找一个例子 |
| 3 | Read a poem aloud daily; mark the rhyme scheme | 每天朗读一首诗,标出韵式 |
| 4 | Write one PETE paragraph about a character | 就一个人物写一个 PETE 段落 |
| 5 | Read a children's Shakespeare retelling, then watch a scene | 读一本莎士比亚改写本,再看一幕演出 |
| 6 | Start a reading log: title, date, one quotation | 开始写阅读日志:书名、日期、一条引文 |
| 7 | Practise handwriting and punctuation for 15 minutes a day | 每天练 15 分钟书写与标点 |
| 8 | Write a full analytical paragraph under timed conditions | 限时写一个完整的分析段落 |
Keep everything in one notebook. In September, that notebook becomes the best revision resource you own.
把一切都记在同一个笔记本里。到了九月,这个本子就会成为你最好的复习资料。
9. Core Terminology You Should Know | 你应该掌握的核心术语
Precise terminology makes your writing sound like analysis rather than description. Aim to use three or four terms accurately in each essay rather than listing twenty loosely.
准确的术语能让你的文章听起来像分析而不是描述。目标是在每篇文章中准确使用三到四个术语,而不是松散地罗列二十个。
| Term | 术语 | Meaning | 含义 |
