3. Overview of English-Taught Programmes |
The University of Bayreuth primarily offers English-taught programmes at the master's level, reflecting its strategy to attract highly qualified international graduate students. A limited number of bachelor's modules and a few integrated programmes are also delivered in English, often in combination with German language requirements. Doctoral studies are almost exclusively conducted in English across all faculties.

4. Bachelor's Programmes Taught in English |
As of the current academic year, the University of Bayreuth does not offer a dedicated full-time bachelor's degree programme that can be completed entirely in English without any prior German proficiency. Most undergraduate degrees, including the popular B.Sc. Economics and B.A. Culture & Economy, are taught predominantly in German, although individual courses or elective modules may be available in English.
Prospective students seeking an English-medium undergraduate experience are advised to check the language requirements of specific programmes very carefully. In many cases, a DSH-2 or TestDaF level 4 certificate in German is mandatory. For applicants aiming for a truly English-taught bachelor's, looking at universities offering full English undergraduate programmes in Germany might be a better fit.

10. Accommodation Options |
The Studentenwerk (Student Services) manages several student dormitories located on or near the campus. A single room in a shared flat typically costs between €280 and €380 per month including utilities. Demand is high, so early application—ideally right after receiving the admission letter—is crucial. The waiting time can be several months for mid-semester applicants.
