安省大学申请系统每年十月开放，学生最先问的往往不是录取线，而是奖学金要不要另外交材料。答案取决于奖项本身。一部分由大学在录取决定做出时自动评估，另一部分必须由学生自己提交申请。两者的截止时间、评审人和发放方式都不一样。混在一起准备，最容易错过那个不会提醒你的窗口。
Applications to Ontario universities open in October, and the first question families ask is rarely about cut-off averages; it is whether a scholarship needs a separate submission. The answer depends on the award type, since some are assessed automatically when an offer is made while others only reach a committee if the student applies. Deadlines, reviewers and payment schedules differ between the two, and treating them as a single process is the usual reason a window gets missed.
一、OUAC 只管申请，不评奖学金 / What OUAC does and does not do
OUAC 是安省的集中申请处理机构，负责收表、转发成绩与回传录取结果，本身不设奖项，也不参与评审。奖学金由各大学的 awards office 或院系发放，钱从学校预算、捐赠基金与校友捐款里出。这意味着你在系统里填的那几张表，不会替你进入任何一项入学奖的候选名单。学生在 OUAC 上看到的只有申请编号与状态，真正的奖学金信息在各校自己的学生门户里。很多学生以为交了申请就等于自动报名所有奖项，实际只有标注 automatic 的那一类才是。要在系统外单独登录、单独填表的奖项，OUAC 一概不管。这一层分工弄清楚，后面才知道哪些事必须自己动手。
The OUAC is a central processing service: it collects applications, forwards transcripts and returns decisions, and it neither funds nor judges awards. Money for entrance scholarships comes from university budgets, endowments or donor funds, and each institution's awards office or faculty runs its own competition. Nothing typed into the application form enters you for a named award, which is why the scholarship pages sit on university sites rather than inside the application portal; treat the OUAC number as an administrative reference, not as an entry ticket.
二、自动评估型奖学金怎么触发 / How automatic awards are triggered
自动评估型的逻辑很简单，录取决定做出时，学校用你的入学平均分对照当年的门槛表，过线就发，不需要额外动作。触发条件通常要一起成立：直接从中六或十二年级应届申请、被全日制本科专业录取、平均分达到该校公布的那一档。金额按档位递增，分数越高档位越高，同一所学校内部不同院系的门槛也可能不同。常见的错误是只盯总分，忽略了先修课的要求，比如工程类会看你的最好六门里有没有物理与微积分。有的学校在录取后复核最终成绩单，最终均分掉档，奖学金随之调整。这些条款写在奖项说明的 terms 段落里，录取信上通常只有一句概括。
Automatic awards run on a simple rule: when an offer is made, the admission average is checked against that year's threshold table and the award is attached without further action. Three conditions usually have to hold at once, direct entry from secondary school, full-time registration in an undergraduate programme, and an average at or above the published band. Amounts step up with the average, and faculties within the same university can set different cut-offs; the fine print about final transcripts and downgraded averages sits in the terms page, not in the offer letter.
三、入学平均分按哪个成绩算 / Which average is actually used
同一份成绩单，不同学校算出来的平均分能差出一两分，原因是口径不同。安省大学普遍看最好的六门 4U 或 4M 课程，专业要求的先修课必须算在里面，剩下的才是自选。有的学校把重修课程按第一次成绩计，有的取最高一次。国际课程体系的学生注意，A-Level、IB、AP 的换算表各校自定，估算时用学校官网公布的 equivalency 页面，不要照搬论坛里的换算。这一步最容易出错的地方是把预估分当最终分。录取信上的奖学金金额多数按预估或期中成绩给出，条件写的是维持某个最终均分。掉档不一定全部取消，多数学校按低一档的金额重算。
Two students with the same transcript can end up with averages a point or two apart, because institutions count different course sets. Most Ontario universities use the best six 4U or 4M courses, with the prerequisite for the intended programme inside that six rather than counted separately; repeat attempts are handled in opposite ways, some schools keeping the first mark and others the highest. For A-Level, IB or AP applicants the conversion table is set by each university, so use its published equivalency page instead of a forum post, and remember that the figure triggering an award is often a predicted average that has to be held until the final transcript arrives.

需申请型奖项的名单公开在校友捐赠页或院系页面上，名称、金额、资格、所需材料逐条列出。评审看的是材料而不是分数排名，个人陈述、推荐信、社区服务的具体记录都会进入评分。这类奖项数量多，单项金额往往不大，几百到几千加元不等，也有少数覆盖全部学费。申请入口不在 OUAC，而在学校的学生门户或独立的 awards 系统。截止日期常常早于录取结果公布，也就是你还没拿到 offer 就要交材料。错过这一条，没有任何补救渠道，学校不会因为你后来补交而重开评审。
Named awards are listed on donor and faculty pages, with the amount, the eligibility rules and the required documents set out side by side. A committee reads the file rather than ranking averages, so the personal statement, references and specific records of service carry the decision; most of these awards are small, a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, with a handful covering tuition in full. The application does not sit in the OUAC system but in the university portal, and its deadline frequently falls before offers are released, which leaves no recovery route once it passes.
五、Awards Profile 与推荐人确认 / The awards profile
很多学校把需申请型奖项合并成一张表，叫 awards profile 或 financial aid application，填一次可以进入多个奖项的候选池。表里除了成绩，还会问家庭收入区间、是否家中第一个上大学、是否有原住民身份、有无残障、参加过哪些竞赛与志愿活动。这些字段不是形式，它们对应具体的专项奖金，比如 first-generation award 只发给家里第一个读大学的学生。填表时最容易漏的是推荐人确认环节。系统发出邮件后需要推荐人点链接上传，学生这边看到的状态是已提交，实际还卡在推荐人那一步。截止前一两天才发现，基本来不及。
Several universities fold their named awards into one form, an awards profile or financial aid application, so a single submission feeds many competitions. Beyond grades, the form asks for household income bands, first-generation status, Indigenous identity, disability and a record of competitions and volunteering; those fields are not decoration, they route the file to dedicated funds such as a first-generation award that only reaches students whose parents did not attend university. The step students forget is the referee confirmation, because the portal shows submitted while the reference is still sitting in someone's inbox, and a file completed two days before the deadline rarely clears.
六、身份与居住状态的门槛 / Eligibility by status
自动评估型入学奖大多只对加拿大公民、永久居民和受保护人士开放，国际学生通常不在名单里。国际学生能申请的是单独设立的 international entrance award，数量少，竞争者集中，申请时往往要额外写一段说明或参加面试。持学习许可的学生要看清注册条件，部分奖项要求全日制注册并保持规定学分，否则第二年停发。身份条款写在每个奖项的 eligibility 段落里，与录取决定分开计算。成绩够也不代表资格够，这一条最容易被忽略。入学后转身份的学生，多数学校允许在下一学年重新评估，但要自己提交材料。
Most automatic entrance awards are reserved for Canadian citizens, permanent residents and protected persons, which leaves international applicants outside the list. In music, art, architecture, drama and design, the scholarship review is often the admission review, and the portfolio or audition carries both decisions at once. Engineering and business programmes sometimes run an entrance competition where a strong result produces an entrance award rather than a course exemption; portfolio deadlines usually coincide with the application deadline, so a late upload removes the file from consideration. The usual mistake is preparing only the admission version, when the scholarship version asks for a separate artist statement or repertoire list with its own length and format.
八、续领条件与发放方式 / Renewal and disbursement
入学奖不等于一次性到账。多数学校把金额分成秋季与冬季两期，直接冲抵学费账户，退课或转专业时按比例调整。续领条件通常写成维持全日制注册、完成规定学分、学年均分不低于某个数值，住校类奖项还会加上继续住在校内的条款。掉到续领线以下的处理方式各校不同，有的给一年警告期，有的直接停发。条款写在奖项说明的 renewal 段，录取信不会展开。学生要自己把那个均分记下来，放进第一年的计划里。等到学年结束才发现差 0.2 分，申诉渠道通常只有一次。
An entrance award is rarely a single payment: most universities split the amount across the autumn and winter terms and credit it to the tuition account, with any balance adjusted if a student drops courses or changes programme. Renewal terms usually require full-time registration, a set number of credits and a yearly average above a stated figure, and residential awards add a condition about living on campus. What happens below that line differs by institution, from a one-year warning to an immediate stop, and the detail lives in the renewal section of the award description rather than in the offer.
九、OSAP 与奖学金是两条线 / OSAP is a separate system
OSAP 是安省政府的学生资助计划，按家庭收入与学费缺口计算，与大学奖学金是两套系统。申请走 ontario.ca 官网的 OSAP 入口，材料包括报税记录与家庭收入证明，审批结果是一份资助组合，含贷款与无需偿还的补助。大学奖学金不会替代 OSAP 申请，两者可以同时拿。校外奖励可能影响按需资助的计算，具体规则以 OSAP 官网当年说明为准。很多学生以为有了入学奖就不用申请 OSAP，实际两者覆盖的费用不同，前者是奖励，后者是资助。前者看成绩，后者看家庭经济状况，评审逻辑不重叠。
OSAP is the provincial student assistance programme, calculated from household income and the gap between costs and resources, and it runs on a separate track from university awards. The application goes through the OSAP entry on the ontario.ca website, with tax records and income documents attached, and the result is a package of loans and non-repayable grants. Holding an entrance award does not remove the need to apply, and while the two can be held together, outside awards can affect a needs-based calculation, so the current year's OSAP guidance is the page to read before assuming a total.
十、时间线：十月到五月 / Timeline from October to May
十月到十一月是准备期，成绩单、推荐人、作品集素材在这段时间定下来。十二月到一月是提交高峰，需申请型奖项的截止多数落在这里。二月到四月学校陆续发 offer，自动评估型的金额随 offer 一起写明。五月是接受 offer 的期限，也是核对奖学金条款的时候，续领均分、注册要求、发放时间都要在这一步确认。很多学生以为五月接受 offer 就结束了，实际奖项确认与入学注册是两条线。漏掉后者，奖学金在开学时无法入账。学校发的 award letter 要单独签回，这一步常被当成广告邮件忽略。
October and November are for preparation, when transcripts, referees and portfolio material get settled. December and January carry the submission peak, since most application-based awards close in that window, and offers with their automatic amounts arrive between February and April. May is the acceptance deadline and also the point to read the award terms properly, checking the renewal average, the registration requirement and the payment schedule; award confirmation and course registration are separate steps, and skipping the second leaves the money unable to post at the start of term.
十一、拿到 offer 之后核对什么 / What to check after the offer
拿到 offer 之后先把奖学金段落读完整，看清金额是四年总额还是每年金额，这一条差别很大。再看续领条件，把要求的均分写进第一年的学习计划。国际学生要确认奖项条款与学签材料是否冲突，比如是否要求本地银行账户。最后核对发放时间与学费缴费截止是否对得上，差额部分提前安排。这一整套信息只在学校 awards 官网与学生门户里，第三方汇总页常年不更新，年份一错金额就错。有疑问直接写邮件给 awards office，回复通常比招生办快。邮件里带上学号与奖项名称，能省掉一轮来回。
Read the scholarship paragraph in full before accepting, and establish whether the figure is a four-year total or an annual amount, because that difference changes the arithmetic of the whole degree. Note the renewal conditions and put the required average into the first-year plan, then check international conditions that may collide with study-permit paperwork, such as a local bank account requirement. Finally, match the disbursement date against the tuition deadline and arrange the shortfall in advance; the only reliable source for all of this is the university's awards site and student portal, since summary pages elsewhere go stale and a wrong year produces a wrong figure.
