KS2英语写作 故事 场景 人物 对话 衔接

KS2 阶段的写作题几乎都是同一个要求:写一个故事。学生交上来的稿子往往字数够、段落也有,读起来却没有推进,因为里面缺的是可以训练的具体动作,不是灵感。国家课程的 English programmes of study(由 DfE 发布在 gov.uk,2013 年 9 月 11 日,英语科目自 2016 年 9 月起在所有年级全面实施)把 years 5 and 6 的写作拆成计划、起草、评估、修改、校对五个动作,每个动作都有明确的课堂落点。下面按知识点的顺序,把故事写作里真正被扣分的地方逐个拆开。

Written stories at key stage 2 are rarely failed for length. They are failed because nothing happens, or because the things that happen are described instead of shown. The national curriculum splits writing into planning, drafting, evaluating and proof-reading, and each of those stages has a teachable technique behind it.

A story that stalls usually spends its first third on furniture and weather. The national curriculum for years 5 and 6 asks pupils to describe settings, characters and atmosphere and to integrate dialogue that conveys character and advances the action, which is a demand about function rather than paragraph count. A workable plan gives each part one job: establish who is present and what is wrong, complicate the problem, force a choice, then show the consequence of that choice and stop. Moderators read for momentum, so a piece that reaches its dilemma on page two reads better than one that arrives at it in the final line.

A first line earns the second, and that is the entire job of an opening. Put a person in the middle of an action and let the setting surface through it: cold hands, a wet mark on a desk, a door that will not close. Many stories lose their reader in the first paragraph by describing a room before anyone has walked into it, and the description then reads as filler. Narrative writing is judged on how settings and characters serve the story, not on how much detail can be stacked up before the story starts.

Telling a reader that a character is frightened costs nothing and achieves nothing. Showing a hand winding a bag strap three times around a finger costs no extra words and does the work. Sensory detail is strongest when it is selective, because four adjectives in a row read like a brochure instead of a story. Atmosphere is the one element of the expected standard that cannot be asserted, only built, which is why a paragraph that survives having its adjectives deleted is usually the better paragraph.

扩展名词短语与精确动词

扩展名词短语是 years 3 and 4 就要求的语法点:在名词前后加形容词、名词和介词短语,把信息压进一个词组。the boy 可以扩成 the boy with the cracked glasses behind the door,两个信息不用另起一句。动词更值得花时间,走可以是 shuffle、march、slip,每个词自带速度与态度。常见的错误是形容词和副词一起上,写出 quickly ran fast 这种句子,两个词互相抵消。选一个准确的动词,删掉两个副词,句子立刻瘦下来而意思更清楚。学生常以为长句显得成熟,其实考试看的是句子是否承担了不同的功能。扩展名词短语也不要一口气加三层,两层足够,第三层读者就开始回读。

Expanded noun phrases are statutory from years 3 and 4 and remain the cheapest way to load information into a clause without adding a second one. Verb choice does the other half of the work, since shuffle, march and slip each carry a speed and an attitude that walked does not. Pupils often pair a weak verb with an adverb and a redundant adjective, which dilutes the image rather than sharpening it. Cutting two modifiers and keeping one precise verb improves most sentences without changing a single fact, and it keeps the reader moving.

句长与前置状语控制节奏

紧张感不靠感叹号,靠句子的长短。连续四个长句会让高潮读成说明文,方法是在最需要停顿的地方插一个三四字的短句:门开了。然后接一个长句把细节铺开,节奏就出来了。前置状语是 years 3 and 4 的语法要求,把时间或地点提到句首,后面必须加逗号,写成 At the end of the corridor, the light flickered. 常见的错误是漏掉这个逗号,或者一句话连甩三个状语,读者不知道先看哪个。一句话放一个状语足够,其余的挪到下一句开头。短句也不要连着用,连着三个短句会变成流水账。句长交替的判断标准很简单:朗读一遍,喘不上气的地方就该断句。

Pace is a matter of sentence length rather than exclamation marks, and a climax written in four long sentences reads like an instruction manual. A three-word sentence placed exactly where the reader needs to stop achieves more than any amount of punctuation. Fronted adverbials, required from years 3 and 4, work the same way at the level of structure: moving time or place to the front signals a shift, but the comma after it is not optional. Stacking three adverbials in one sentence leaves the reader unsure what to look at first, so one per sentence is the practical limit.

Dialogue in a key stage 2 narrative has two jobs, revealing character and advancing the action, and both are named in the expected standard. The punctuation is mechanical but unforgiving: spoken words sit inside the inverted commas with their own final punctuation, the reporting clause is joined by a comma, and a new speaker starts a new line. A frequent slip is placing the full stop outside the closing inverted comma, which is marked wrong even when the words themselves are accurate. Reporting verbs other than said earn their place only when they add information, so two or three across a whole piece is usually enough.

Cohesion is assessed within and across paragraphs, and the cross-paragraph kind is where marks quietly disappear. Ending a paragraph on an unresolved object or gesture gives the next one something to hold on to, which is more reliable than opening with a time phrase. Pronouns are efficient until two characters share a gender, at which point names and role nouns have to carry the load. Synonyms are not interchangeable decorations, because the difference between attack and assault is a difference in register that can change what the reader believes happened.

Narrative runs on the simple past, with the past continuous reserved for whatever was already happening when the story began. The test is whether an action predates the main line or sits on it, and that answer decides the tense. Present perfect has almost no place in narrative prose outside quoted speech, which is why it so often signals a pupil slipping into an essay voice. Tense consistency is judged across the whole piece, so one jump into the present in the closing paragraph can cost more than several small slips earlier on.

拼写词表与后缀规则

国家课程英语附录 1 给了两张词表,一张 years 3 and 4,一张 years 5 and 6,TAF 的 working towards 标准要求正确拼写前一张的大部分词以及后一张的部分词,expected 标准反过来要求后一张的大部分词。同音词丢分比长词更多:there、their、they're,practice 与 practise,advice 与 advise。后缀规则值得成组背:-cious 与 -tious 看词根,-tion、-sion、-ssion、-cian 按读音与词源分,-able 与 -ible 靠记忆加例词。常见的错误是把 necessary 写成 neccessary,多写一个 c。y5/y6 词表里的 rhythm、queue、committee 这类词只能靠词形记忆,拆音节比抄十遍有效。

The national curriculum spelling appendix carries two statutory lists, one for years 3 and 4 and one for years 5 and 6, and the teacher assessment framework stages its expectations across them. Homophones cost more marks than long words, because a pupil who can spell necessary may still write there house. Suffix patterns are worth drilling in groups: the cious and tious endings, the four shun spellings, and the able and ible pair. Spelling is one of the few areas where five minutes a day moves the score, and dictation beats copying because it tests recall rather than recognition.

Evaluating and proof-reading are separate operations in the national curriculum, one about whether the writing works and the other about whether it is correct, and doing both at once usually means doing neither well. Reading a draft aloud the next day catches most comma splices, because the voice wants to stop where the punctuation does not. A four-item check covers most pupils: a topic in each paragraph, tense held throughout, inverted commas in pairs, capitals after full stops. Deleting a sentence before adding one is faster than patching, and the paragraph often joins up by itself.

教师评定的三级标准

KS2 写作没有卷面测试,法定判定靠教师评定。STA 的框架(gov.uk 发布的 Teacher assessment frameworks at the end of key stage 2)从 2018/19 学年起沿用,分三级:working towards the expected standard、working at the expected standard、working at greater depth。

Writing is the one key stage 2 subject with no test paper, so the statutory judgement rests on teacher assessment against a framework unchanged since 2018/19. A pupil's writing must meet every statement in the standard being awarded, with limited professional discretion for one weakness. Greater depth is not more of the same: it asks for deliberate control of register and formality and for punctuation used precisely rather than merely correctly. Around a quarter of schools are externally moderated each year, which is why evidence is gathered across subjects rather than kept in a single portfolio.

Grammar, punctuation and spelling is tested even though writing is not, and the paper structure rewards pupils who know the names of things. Paper 1 carries 50 marks in 45 minutes of short answers, while Paper 2 is twenty dictated words worth 20 marks and is not strictly timed. Raw scores are converted to a scaled score where 100 marks the expected standard, so a handful of marks either way changes the reported outcome. Pupils who can correct a sentence but cannot name a fronted adverbial lose marks that are purely about terminology.
