IELTS One Skill Retake is an official service from the IELTS partners - the British Council, IDP IELTS and Cambridge University Press & Assessment - that lets a candidate who has already sat a complete IELTS test retake one component only: Listening, Reading, Writing or Speaking. The retake session uses exactly the same format, the same timing and the same marking standards as the original component. It is not a simplified test and not a different test; it is the same skill component, delivered again.

4. Booking and What It Costs | 报名流程与费用
You normally book the retake online through the same account or test centre portal you used for the original test, once your original results have been released. For computer-delivered tests results usually arrive within a few days, which leaves plenty of the 60-day window for a retake. Choose the skill you want to improve, select an available session inside the window, and pay the retake fee.

Fees are set locally, so there is no single global number. 5. What Happens on Test Day | 考试当天的流程
On the day, you sit the same component you sat before, with the same question types and the same time limits. Nothing is shortened, softened or adapted. If you retake Listening, you hear four recorded sections once only, with the standard computer-delivered review time at the end. If you retake Reading, you have 60 minutes for three passages and 40 questions, with no extra transfer time because answers are typed directly. If you retake Writing, you have 60 minutes for Task 1 and Task 2, with roughly 20 and 40 minutes recommended respectively. If you retake Speaking, you have the standard three-part interview of about 11 to 14 minutes with a certified examiner.

6. How Your New Score and Test Report Form Work | 新成绩与成绩单如何运作
After the retake you receive a new Test Report Form. It shows the new band score for the retaken skill, the original band scores for the other three skills, and a recalculated Overall Band Score. Your original Test Report Form remains valid as a document in its own right, but the two reports cannot be mixed. You cannot take Writing 6.5 from the new report and Speaking 7.5 from the old one to build a hybrid profile - an institution will normally look at one complete report.

The Overall Band Score is the average of the four skill scores, rounded to the nearest half band, with averages ending in .25 rounded up to the next half band and averages ending in .75 rounded up to the next whole band.

Overall Band = (Listening + Reading + Writing + Speaking) ÷ 4
age is 28.5 ÷ 4 = 7.125, which rounds to an Overall Band of 7.0, and the Writing score blocks the requirement. Retaking Writing and scoring 7.0 changes the picture.
