1. What an Enquiry on Results Really Is | 成绩复议究竟是什么
An Enquiry on Results is a formal, paid request for your Listening, Reading, Writing or Speaking performance to be re-marked by a senior examiner who has no knowledge of the original marks. It is not a complaint, not a re-sit, and not a chance to add new evidence.

With half the skills to assess and a binary outcome, the review workload is materially smaller. That is the straightforward reason the fee sits 400 RMB below the academic and UKVI products.

Note the practical consequence: because Life Skills returns pass or fail, a successful EOR does not move you "from 6.5 to 7.0" - it changes an unsuccessful result into a successful one, or confirms it.

You must submit the EOR application within six weeks (approximately 42 days) of your test date. The clock starts from the test date, not from the day your Test Report Form arrives.

Because results are normally released 13 days after a paper test and within 3 to 5 days for computer-delivered IELTS, you typically have several comfortable weeks. Still, do not leave it late:

A senior examiner who did not mark your test re-marks the specified sections from scratch, using the same band descriptors and the same standardisation materials.

The review is a quality-control procedure, not a negotiation. No new evidence is accepted, no interview takes place, and no explanation of your reasoning is considered.

Official guidance allows up to six weeks for completion, although many computer-delivered reviews finish sooner.

While an EOR is in progress, your scores are placed on hold. You cannot send them to universities, employers or visa authorities, and you cannot use them to satisfy a deadline.

When a score changes, the test centre also issues a new Test Report Form reflecting the revised result, and any previously sent score reports are updated.

Use the following questions before you pay.

If you answer "yes" to the first two and "yes" to the third, the 1400 RMB is usually a rational spend. If your sole reason is that you dislike the number, book another test instead.
