机考的考场规则里，最多人问的是纸和笔。听力还没开始，监考人员就先发下一张电脑登录单，上面印着用户名与密码，字母大小写都不能错。这张单子在机考里还有第二个身份，就是官方允许使用的草稿纸。把文具与携带物品的规则看明白，进场那半小时会顺很多。
On a computer-delivered IELTS test day, the questions candidates ask most often are about paper and pens, because the login sheet handed out before listening is both the way into the system and the only writing surface the test provides. Invigilators treat stationery and permitted items as an exam-security matter rather than a comfort issue. Knowing what may be brought in, and what stays outside, removes an avoidable source of stress.

Pencils are supplied by the test centre, and centre stationery should not be mixed with anything brought from home. The only personal items allowed past the check-in desk are a bottle of water with the label removed and essential medication; everything else belongs in the storage area. Labels must come off the bottle, and medication is best taken out of its packaging in advance so the check is quick. Centres set aside a designated area for bags and phones, and while reasonable care is taken, loss of valuables is not covered, which makes leaving laptops and jewellery at home the simpler choice. Items that feel like daily necessities, from tissues to lip balm, are not on the permitted list and stay outside.

Your identification document stays on the desk throughout the test so it can be checked at any time. The wristband should stay on as well, including during visits to the washroom, and a damaged band is best reported rather than removed by the candidate. Nobody should touch the computer or move the monitor until an invigilator gives the signal, and screen colours and font size are adjusted later through the Settings button.

The reading screen keeps the passage on the left and the questions on the right, and right-clicking opens the Highlight and Notes tools for marking evidence. Notes pile up quickly and slow the reading down, so use Clear or Clear all before starting a new passage. Both writing tasks are typed, and the system counts words as you go while saving automatically, with remaining time displayed at the top of the screen. Flash reminders appear ten and five minutes before reading and writing end, so watching a clock is unnecessary. Slow typing eats straight into planning and checking time, and candidates who normally write by hand gain most from trying the official familiarisation test beforehand.
洗手间用 Hide 与 Resume 有窗口限制
去洗手间只允许在非听力科目进行，时间窗口是监考人员宣读完考试注意事项之后，到本部分考试结束前 10 分钟为止。离开座位前点击屏幕左上角的 Hide，返回座位后再点击中间的 Resume 继续答题。离开考场与返回座位都要接受工作人员的引导与核验，来回都要留出时间。听力期间不接受离场，这一点机考和纸笔没有区别。很多学生把洗手间安排在最后几分钟，结果和入场检录的人流撞在一起，开考前先用一次更省心。
Washroom breaks are allowed in reading and writing, after the rules have been read out and before the final ten minutes of that module, and never during listening. Pressing Hide in the top left masks the screen, and Resume in the middle brings the task back once you are seated again. Leaving and returning involves staff checks, so the sensible plan is to use the washroom before the queue forms.
迟到与违规的后果写在同一段规则里
上午场的入场截止时间是 08:30，下午场是 13:30，晚场是 17:30。迟到考生无法进入考场，无法参加任何考试科目，并且不得转考、退考或退费，已完成科目的成绩会被取消。这条规则对机考与纸笔同样适用，口试也一样，至少提前 30 分钟报到，截止入场是口试时间前 15 分钟。机考的准考证在笔试日期前 2 天打印，机考报名在考前 3 天截止，把这两个时间点写进日历能少很多慌乱。笔试成绩在考后 3 到 5 天公布，比纸笔模式快得多。

For computer-delivered tests, speaking usually falls on the same day as the written paper or as close to it as scheduling allows, and the exact time appears on the test day document. Identification is checked again at the speaking venue, and the document stays on the desk in view of the examiner. Part 2 questions appear on screen, so bring your glasses if you need them, and after the interview you leave immediately without discussing the questions with anyone.
