The official line is blunt: book as early as possible, and you can sit at a convenient time in the centre closest to you. With five test days per sitting and finite capacity at every centre, waiting until the final week is a gamble many applicants lose.
UAT-UK 三项笔试由 Pearson VUE 承办
UAT-UK 由 University of Cambridge 与 Imperial College London 在 2023 年 12 月合资成立，是一家非营利机构。它负责 ESAT、TMUA 与 TARA 三项入学笔试。真正坐在电脑前完成考试的流程，由 Pearson VUE 在其考试中心网络里执行。ESAT 与 TMUA 在 2024 年 10 月首次开考，TARA 在 2025 年 10 月首次开考。UAT-UK 官网写的是 180 多个国家和地区、五千多个 Pearson 考试中心。Pearson VUE 官网 About 页面给的数字是 5,500 个考试中心，那是它承接全部考试的合计口径。两个数字口径不同，写文章时应该都照实写上，并注明各自出处。
UAT-UK is a non-profit joint venture created by the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London in December 2023, and it owns the ESAT, TMUA and TARA admissions tests. Delivery sits with Pearson VUE, which runs them in professional test centres rather than in schools. The two organisations quote different totals for that network, over 5,000 centres on the UAT-UK website and 5,500 on Pearson's own About page, because Pearson's figure covers every exam it delivers.

UAT-UK 在 Key Dates 页面上专门留了一节叫 Book Early，建议考生尽早预约。理由是两句话，一是能选到自己方便的时间，二是能用上离家最近的考点。这句话的适用范围就是报名窗口打开到截止之间的那段时间。同一页还写着，考生必须自己在截止日前完成报名，过期之后官方不受理任何预约。很多学生以为窗口关闭只是不能再付钱，实际上关闭意味着考点名单与考位一起从系统里消失。一月的报名窗口在 2026 年 10 月 26 日 15:00 打开，到 2026 年 12 月 21 日 18:00 关闭。窗口开放的那几周，是考位最多的几周。
The Key Dates page carries a short section headed Book Early, and its advice is easy to follow: book as soon as the window opens so you can pick a time that suits you at the centre nearest your home. Candidates are responsible for registering before the deadline, and UAT-UK states plainly that it cannot accept bookings once that date has passed. What disappears at the deadline is not just the payment option but the whole list of available appointments.

报名分两步，先建 UAT-UK 账号，再进入 Pearson 系统选考试、选考点、付款。账号里要完成 Add a Test Card 这一步，也就是选好笔试与模块，这一步由系统自动批准。之后 dashboard 上出现一张考试卡片，点开它才进入真正的预约界面，也才看得到剩余考位。考点是 Pearson 的专业考试中心，不是学校教室，官方 FAQ 明确回答不能在自己学校考。考点名单在报名开放之后才会出现在账号里，也可以从 Pearson 官网的 Test Centre Locator 看大致分布。这一步最容易忽略的是顺序，先把账号信息填完整，再谈选考点。
Booking happens in two stages: you create a UAT-UK account, add a test card that records which paper and modules you need, then move into Pearson's system to choose a date, choose a centre and pay. Only when the card is live does the dashboard hand you over to the appointment screen, which is where remaining seats are shown. You cannot sit at your own school, and the centre list itself appears inside your account only after booking opens.
一个考季只有五个考试日
十月场定在 2026 年 10 月 12 日到 16 日，一月场定在 2027 年 1 月 4 日到 8 日。每个窗口都只有五个工作日，三项笔试只在其中每一天开考。把五天乘以每个考点每天的机位数量，就是这个窗口能容纳的考生规模。偏远地区的考点数量本来就少，选得越晚，剩下的考点可能离你越远。常见的错误是盯着报名截止日安排时间，等到想订的时候发现最近的考点已经满了。改期与取消都受同一套余位限制，原因就在这五天里没有额外加场。
Each sitting offers only five working days: 12 to 16 October 2026, then 4 to 8 January 2027, and all three papers run on every one of those days. Multiply five days by the number of machines a centre can run and you get the total capacity of that window, which is why remote areas fill up first. Nothing extra is added later, so a reschedule simply moves you around inside the same five days.
中国内地香港澳门只开放固定单日
2024 年 10 月出现过考生试图未经授权获取并出售试题内容的事件，官方把这件事写进了安全说明。此后 ESAT 与 TMUA 在中国内地、香港与澳门只在两天开考，TARA 每个窗口只开一天。十月场对应的是 ESAT 的 10 月 12 日与 13 日、TARA 的 10 月 14 日、TMUA 的 10 月 15 日与 16 日。一月场对应的是 ESAT 的 1 月 6 日、TARA 的 1 月 7 日、TMUA 的 1 月 8 日。官网写明不做任何个人例外，三地考生只能在这些日子里面选。可选的日子变少，考位被压缩，这三地的预约更应该尽早动手。
Following reports in October 2024 that candidates tried to obtain and sell test content without authorisation, ESAT and TMUA are now offered on just two days in China, Hong Kong and Macau, and TARA on a single day per window. The fixed days are 12 and 13 October for ESAT, 14 October for TARA and 15 or 16 October for TMUA, with 6, 7 and 8 January in the winter window. UAT-UK states that no individual exceptions will be made, which makes early booking more important here than anywhere else.

考点名单不是常驻页面，它在报名开放之后才出现在考生的 UAT-UK 账号里。想看大致范围，可以先用 Pearson 官网上的 Test Centre Locator 查一遍考试中心分布。正式预约仍然必须回到账号里完成，Locator 只是帮你判断最近的城市在哪。很多学生以为考点提前几个月就能订，结果在窗口打开的第一周才发现自己所在城市只有一个中心。这一步最容易出问题的是账号里的姓名，它必须与考试当天出示的证件完全一致。姓名对不上会在考场当场被劝返，考试费也拿不回来。
The list of test centres is not a standing public page; it appears inside your UAT-UK account once booking opens, while Pearson's Test Centre Locator only gives a rough map of what exists. Formal appointments are still made in the account, and the name on it must match the photo ID you bring on the day exactly. Applicants who get that wrong are turned away at the desk and lose the fee.
英国考生按 40 英里原则选考点
英国考生在预约时会看到离家最近的几个考点，官方给出的判断标准是 40 英里。如果你能在自家邮编 40 英里内订到考位，就按正常流程预约并付款。订不到的情况下，官方要求联系 Pearson VUE 客户服务，由他们协助找出最近的可用考位。官方同时说明，个别偏远地区本来就不可能做到 40 英里以内。海外考生一般在自己所在国家或地区内移动，官方不提供跨国赴考的安排。常见的错误是把 40 英里当成硬性保证，它只是官方判断是否需要协助的那条线。
For candidates sitting in the UK, the working rule is 40 miles: if an appointment exists within that distance of your home postcode, you book and pay as normal. If nothing is available, Pearson VUE Customer Services will help you find the closest alternative, and the guidance accepts that some remote locations simply cannot meet the distance. Candidates outside the UK are expected to travel within their own country or region.
改期要受考点余位限制
改期与取消都要在开考前 48 小时以上完成，入口在账号里的 Manage Appointment。官方 FAQ 写明改期取决于考点余位，也写明不保证换回同一时间或同一个考点。这道时间线是硬门槛，考前不足两天的申请系统不再受理。在门槛之外改期不收费用，取消则退回全额考试费。很多学生以为取消之后随时可以再约，实际能不能约上取决于当时还剩哪些考位。考生也可以打电话给 Pearson 客户服务代办，余位限制一样存在。
Rescheduling and cancelling both close 48 hours before your test, and both are handled through Manage Appointment in your account or by calling Pearson VUE Customer Services. The official answer is carefully worded: a new date depends on test centre availability, and there is no guarantee you will get the same time or the same centre back. Outside that line there is no financial penalty, and a cancellation returns the full fee.
报名截止之后再取消等于失去考位
报名截止日之后，系统不再接受新的预约，这是官方 Your Responsibility 一节写明的意思。在截止日之后取消考试，就失去了重新预约的通道，只剩退款。十月的报名在 2026 年 9 月 28 日 18:00 已经关闭，现在能看到的是 2026 年 11 月 16 日的出分日期。一月场的报名从 2026 年 10 月 26 日 15:00 开始，到 2026 年 12 月 21 日 18:00 结束。一个申请周期只能注册一次，一月场不是十月场的重考。剑桥与牛津的申请人通常必须考十月场，例外只有剑桥一月截止的成熟学院与牛津的预科项目。常见的错误是把笔试当成可以反复调整的校内考试，报名截止一过就没有第二次机会。
Once the booking deadline passes, UAT-UK stops accepting new appointments altogether, so cancelling after that date leaves a refund but no route back into the system. October booking closed on 28 September 2026 at 6pm UK time, and the next window runs from 26 October to 21 December 2026. You may register only once in an admissions cycle, which means January is not a retake of October.
取消会释放考位但不对外通知
考位不是静态的，考生取消或改期之后，原来那个位置会回到系统里。官方没有候补名单这个功能，释放出来的考位也不会发邮件提醒任何人。想捡到这类空位，只能回到账号里反复查看预约界面。临近考试时释放的考位多半在周边城市，集中在考试窗口的前两周。这一步最容易判断失误的地方是把改期当成先占住位置的办法，先随便订一个日子再慢慢换。改期本身就受余位限制，换不回来时原来的位置也可能已经被人订走。比较稳的做法是先确认自己到底要考哪一场，再动手预约。
Seats move because applicants cancel and reschedule, and every released slot goes straight back into the pool. UAT-UK runs no waiting list and sends no alerts, so the only way to catch a freed appointment is to keep reopening the booking screen in your own account. The trap is treating a first booking as a placeholder you can swap later, because a swap depends on availability and your original slot may be gone by then.
拿练习题占考位会挤掉当年考生
官方 FAQ 专门回答了一个问题，就是不打算今年申请的人能不能付费考一次当练习。回答是强烈不建议，官网写明这样做没有任何好处。官方另外给了两句理由，一句是免费练习卷已经与真实考场同系统。另一句是付费考位会从当年真正需要考试的学生手里拿走。UAT-UK 免费提供两套练习，一套带解析可用于复习，另一套按计时条件开放。很多学生以为提前一年考一次能熟悉流程，实际付出的代价是挤掉一个真实考生。这条路还会留下多余的考试记录，之后重新申请仍然要重考。
UAT-UK answers the question directly: paying to sit the test early, without applying that year, is strongly discouraged and brings no benefit. The reasoning is stated on the official FAQ, which notes that free practice tests already replicate the Pearson system, including one with explained answers and one under timed conditions. Booking a real appointment also takes a seat away from a candidate who needs that place in the same year.
特殊安排与助学金要留出先批后约的时间
特殊安排与助学金的表格只在账号里还没有考试卡片时才出现。正常顺序是先提交申请，等批准之后再去选考试并预约。助学金申请最长需要五个工作日审核，特殊安排申请最长需要十个工作日。这两类审核都要卡在报名截止之前完成，所以申请必须早于截止日很多天。已付款的考试不能再补助学金，已有预约也不能再加特殊安排。想改的话只能先取消预约再退出考试卡片，取消之后是否还有考位没有保证。官方把这句风险写得很清楚，重新预约是否成功取决于当时的考点余位。
Access arrangement and bursary forms appear in your account only while it holds no test card, which forces an unusual order: apply first, get approved, then choose a paper and book. Review takes up to five working days for a bursary and up to ten for access arrangements, so both requests have to be submitted well before the booking deadline rather than on it. If you already hold a booking and need either one, you must cancel the appointment and withdraw the card first, and UAT-UK warns that a new appointment may no longer exist at your preferred centre.
预约之前的四项核对
第一步要先定下要考的笔试与模块，ESAT 的模块在预约之后不能增删。第二步核对账号姓名与证件姓名是否逐字一致，包括拼写与字符顺序。第三步确认考试日期落在自己所在考区开放的那几天里。第四步检查哪一场符合自己的申请计划，剑桥与牛津基本只能选十月。费用按考点所在地计算，英国与爱尔兰是 78 英镑，其他地区是 133 英镑。符合条件的英国考生可以先申请助学金，批准后报名不需要付款。把四项按顺序做完再动手，报名期内的每一周都会让可选考点少一些。
Before you touch the booking screen, fix the paper and modules you need, because ESAT module choices cannot be added or removed afterwards. Check next that the name in your account matches your photo ID letter for letter, and that your chosen date falls on a day your region actually runs. Then confirm which sitting fits your application, remembering that Cambridge and Oxford applicants are normally limited to October, with fees of 78 pounds in the UK and Ireland and 133 pounds elsewhere.
