IB TOK Exhibition 三物件 950字 评分攻略

TOK Exhibition 是 IB Core 三大组件之一(EE, TOK, CAS),占 TOK 总分的 1/3。这篇攻略带你从零到10分,拆解三件物件、35个 IA 提示、950字评论、评分标准全流程。 The TOK Exhibition is one of the three IB Core components (EE, TOK, CAS), accounting for 1/3 of your TOK score. This guide takes you from zero to 10/10: how to choose 3 objects, match them to one of the 35 IA prompts, write a 950-word commentary, and nail the assessment rubric. The TOK Exhibition is the internal assessment for the TOK course. You select three specific objects, choose one of the 35 official IA prompts, and write a 950-word English commentary showing how the prompt manifests in the real world through your chosen objects. Unlike the TOK Essay, the Exhibition prizes specificity and the argumentative link between each object and the chosen prompt. You are not discussing abstract philosophy: you are "pinning" philosophical questions onto concrete items: a textbook you used, a news report you read, a photograph of an experiment you conducted. Your objects are your evidence; the contrast between them is your argument structure. ### 第1步:理解 35 个 IA Prompts IB 官方提供了 35 个知识问题提示,涵盖知识的核心维度。例如:"What counts as knowledge?"(什么算作知识?)、"On what grounds might we doubt a claim?"(我们依据什么质疑一个主张?)、"How can we distinguish between knowledge, belief and opinion?"(如何区分知识、信念和观点?)这些提示大致分为三组: IB provides 35 official IA prompts grouped into three broad clusters: (1) 知识的本质(Nature of knowledge): "What counts as knowledge?", "Are some types of knowledge more useful than others?", "How can we know that current knowledge is an improvement upon past knowledge?" 适合用科学物件+历史物件来论证。 (2) 认知者与知识的关系(Knower and knowledge): "What role does imagination play in producing knowledge?", "How can we distinguish between knowledge, belief and opinion?", "Does all knowledge impose ethical obligations on those who know it?" 适合结合艺术、伦理学领域的物件。 (3) 知识的方法与局限(Methods and limits): "On what grounds might we doubt a claim?", "What challenges are raised by the dissemination and/or communication of knowledge?", "How can we distinguish between good and bad interpretations?" 适合媒体分析、实验报告等物件。 选择提示的策略:选一个能让你三件物件从不同角度回应同一问题的提示。太窄的提示会限制你的物件选择;太宽的提示容易让评论流于表面。中等范围的提示效果最好,因为三件物件可以各攻一个维度。 Strategy for choosing a prompt: pick one that lets your three objects each respond from a different angle. Too narrow a prompt restricts your object choices; too broad a prompt leads to superficial commentary. Medium-scope prompts work best: each of your three objects can attack a distinct dimension. ### 第2步:选择三件物件 这是 Exhibition 成败的关键。三件物件必须是具体的、物理存在的物品(或特定数字化内容),而非抽象概念。IB 明确禁止 generic textbook 和 vague concept。好的物件例子:一份特定日期和品牌的 COVID-19 检测试剂盒、一幅你亲自参观过的毕加索画作、一张你拍摄的实验装置照片、一篇特定日期的《自然》杂志封面文章。 This is the make-or-break step. Your three objects must be specific, physical items (or specific digital content), not abstract concepts. IB explicitly forbids generic textbooks and vague concepts. Good examples: a specific COVID-19 test kit with a brand and date, a particular Picasso painting you visited in person, a photograph you took of an experimental setup, a specific Nature journal cover article with a publication date. Four golden rules for object selection: (1) Diverse AOK coverage: at least two Areas of Knowledge; three objects from the same AOK is a fatal single-dimension error. (2) Personal connection: a lab instrument you used beats a downloaded image every time: you can explain why this object triggered a knowledge insight for you. (3) Arguability: can you write at least 150 words of analysis per object? If all you can say is "this is a test tube, it represents science," swap the object. Good objects carry built-in knowledge tension. (4) Inter-object dialogue: your three objects should contrast, complement, or build on each other. For example: one showing knowledge certainty (scientific instrument), one showing knowledge construction (historical document), one showing knowledge boundaries (AI product). ### 第3步:搭建论证链 选定提示和三件物件后,为每件物件构建一个清晰的论证链(argument chain)。以提示 "What counts as knowledge?" 为例,完整演示: After choosing your prompt and three objects, build a clear argument chain for each. Full demonstration using "What counts as knowledge?": **Object 1: COVID-19 rapid antigen test kit (Abbott Panbio, 2022).** 论证:检测结果依赖免疫层析法(antibody-antigen binding),属于科学方法。但灵敏度约 80-90%,意味着 10-20% 的阳性病例被漏检。这里就产生了一个知识问题:一个概然性很高的检测结果算"知识"吗?还是它只是"高度可能的信念"?这直接挑战"justified true belief"的传统知识定义。 **Object 2: The New York Times front page, March 12, 2020.** 论证:当时的头版标题呈现了"2020年3月12日的知识状态"。但事后回顾,许多当时的"事实"被修正或推翻。这说明知识具有时效性(time-bound nature),我们今天认为的知识,明天可能不再是知识。这引入了知识的社会构建维度。 **Object 3: AI-generated image made by DALL-E 2, prompt "scientific discovery."** 论证:DALL-E 2 没有意识、没有信念、没有 evidence 的概念。它根据训练数据的统计模式"生成"内容。那么,AI 的产出算知识吗?如果知识需要认知主体(knower)的信念和论证(justification),AI 生成的内容是否永远不能称为"知识"?这触及提示的核心。 Object 3 is an AI-generated image from DALL-E 2 with the prompt "scientific discovery." The argument: DALL-E 2 has no consciousness, beliefs, or concept of evidence. It "generates" based on statistical patterns in training data. Does AI output count as knowledge? If knowledge requires a knower with beliefs and justification, can AI output ever be "knowledge"? This cuts to the core of the prompt. 三件物件形成递进:确定性知识(科学检测)→ 历史性知识(报刊)→ 知识边界(AI)。每个物件都回应同一个提示的不同层次。 The three objects form a progression: knowledge as certainty (science), knowledge as historical construct (media), and knowledge at its boundary (AI). Each responds to a different layer of the same prompt. ### 第4步:撰写 950 字评论 评论的字数限制是 950 字(不含引用和图片说明),这是硬性上限。超字数在评分中没有直接扣分条款,但 examiner 不会阅读超出部分,所以你实质上是自己删掉了结论。建议结构: The word limit is a hard 950 words (excluding citations and image captions). While there is no explicit penalty for exceeding, examiners stop reading at the limit, so you are effectively deleting your own conclusion. Recommended structure: (1) Introduction (120-150 words): State your chosen IA prompt. Offer a brief interpretation of what the prompt asks. Preview your three objects and how each one illuminates a different dimension of the prompt. Do not begin object analysis in the introduction: just set the stage. (2) Object 1 Analysis (220-250 words): Describe the object in 1-2 sentences. Link it to the prompt explicitly: "This object raises the question of..." Use TOK concepts: justification, evidence, certainty, interpretation, perspective, paradigm, bias. End the section with a micro-conclusion: what does this object reveal about the prompt? (3) Object 2 Analysis (220-250 words): Same structure, but explicitly note how this object differs from Object 1. Use contrast language: "Unlike Object 1, which shows knowledge as..., this object demonstrates that knowledge can also be..." (4) Object 3 Analysis (220-250 words): Complete the triadic argument. Object 3 is ideally your most creative or counterintuitive choice, showing that the knowledge question has an edge case or boundary that the first two objects did not fully capture. (5) Conclusion (80-100 words): Synthesize across all three objects. Do not just repeat what you said. Ask: taken together, what do your three objects reveal about the IA prompt that none of them could reveal alone? A strong conclusion answers the "so what?" question. ### 第5步:评分标准 The rubric has two criteria, each scored 0 to 5, totaling 0 to 10: **Criterion A: Exhibition objects (0-5)** - 0: Work does not reach the standard described. - 1-2: Objects are generic or only loosely connected to the prompt. Commentary is descriptive rather than analytical. - 3-4: Objects are specific and clearly connected to the prompt. Commentary explains their relevance with appropriate TOK vocabulary. - 5: Objects are specific, clearly linked to the prompt, and the commentary demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of how each object manifests different aspects of the knowledge question. Comparisons between objects are drawn. **Criterion B: Commentary (0-5)** - 0: Work does not reach the standard described. - 1-2: Commentary is descriptive; limited or misapplied TOK concepts. Objects are presented in isolation without meaningful comparison. - 3-4: Commentary is analytical with appropriate TOK vocabulary. Arguments are supported by specific references to the objects. Some comparison between objects is attempted. - 5: Commentary is consistently analytical, uses TOK concepts precisely, draws meaningful comparisons between all three objects, and shows awareness of implications, assumptions, and the knower's perspective. The key differentiator between a 4 and a 5 in Criterion B is "awareness of implications and assumptions": a 5-level commentary doesn't just use TOK concepts; it critically reflects on the framework itself. For example, after analyzing how scientific certainty operates in Object 1, a 5-level student might add: "However, this analysis assumes that scientific knowledge is measured by predictive accuracy, an assumption that a historian or artist might not share." ### 第6步:七个常见错误 (1) Description without analysis: 只描述物件是什么,不分析物件如何回应 IA prompt。Red flag: if every paragraph starts with "This object is..." instead of "This object raises the question of..." (2) Objects too generic: "a physics textbook" is not a specific object. "Tsokos Physics for the IB Diploma, 6th edition, the copy I used in Grade 11" is a specific object. Specificity includes edition, date, source, and your personal context. (3) Uncritical acceptance of authority: 用"爱因斯坦说"作为知识论据,而不分析爱因斯坦凭什么知道、他的理论经过怎样的验证过程。TOK 的核心是质疑,不是复述权威。 (4) Ignoring the knower's perspective: IB TOK 强调 knower's perspective。你的评论必须体现:作为认知者,你为什么选择这些物件?你的文化背景、知识框架如何影响你的解读? (5) Single AOK concentration: 三件物件都来自自然科学 = 论证维度单一。至少跨越两个 AOK,展示知识问题的跨领域性质。理想情况是三件物件来自三个不同的 AOK。 (6) Exceeding 950 words: examiners stop reading at the word limit. Plan for 920 words to leave a safe margin. Cut filler phrases: "it is important to note that," "one could argue that," "in my opinion." Replace with direct statements. (7) Zero reference to the IA prompt in the body: 引言之后,正文每一段都应该直接或间接回扣 IA prompt 的措辞。如果一段可以插入任何其他 prompt 下而无需修改,说明该段没有在回答你的特定问题。 ### 考前四周 checklist Week 4: Read all 35 prompts. Shortlist 3 prompts + 6 candidate objects. Discuss with your TOK teacher.
通读全部 35 条提示,初选 3 条提示和 6 件候选物件,与 TOK 老师讨论。 Week 3: Finalize 1 prompt + 3 objects. Write a 100-word argument outline for each object. Check AOK diversity.
确定 1 条提示和 3 件物件,为每件物件写 100 字论证大纲,检查 AOK 多样性。 Week 2: Write full 950-word draft. Self-check TOK vocabulary density (at least 15 distinct TOK terms). Get peer feedback.
完成 950 字全文,自查 TOK 术语密度(至少 15 个不同术语),获取同学反馈。 Week 1: Incorporate teacher feedback. Read aloud for flow. Triple-check word count. Submit.
融入教师反馈,朗读检查流畅度,三查字数,提交。 TOK Exhibition 不考你记住了多少哲学理论,而考你是否能把抽象的知识问题在真实世界里找到落脚点。一旦你选对了三件物件,论证会自然而然地流淌出来。选错了物件,再华丽的文笔也救不回来。 The TOK Exhibition does not test how many philosophical theories you have memorized. It tests whether you can find real-world anchors for abstract knowledge questions. Choose the right three objects, and the arguments will flow naturally. Choose the wrong ones, and no amount of elegant prose will save you. Good luck on your Exhibition!
