Shanghai Livingston School Tutoring Services
Shanghai Livingston American School offers a full range of tutoring services tailored to international students and expatriate families in Shanghai. We know that adjusting to unfamiliar school systems, curricula, and teaching styles can be tough for students from varied backgrounds. Our tutoring programs are built to fill in any learning gaps while upholding the rigorous standards of international education.
Subjects span the core areas—math, sciences, English language arts, social studies—along with any specialized courses the American curriculum demands. Students can opt for one-on-one sessions that zero in on their individual needs, or join small groups that encourage peer learning. Scheduling is built to fit busy international family routines, with tutoring slots open during school hours, after class, and even on weekends if needed.
A key difference is how well Shanghai Livingston’s tutors grasp the realities of expatriate family life. They frequently work with students who are bridging different education systems, tackling language hurdles, or settling into a new culture. This tailored support helps learners not just boost their grades but also feel more at home in their academic environment.
Expert Academic Support for International Students
Shanghai Livingston’s tutors are seasoned educators with deep roots in international teaching. Most hold advanced degrees and have guided learners from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. Many speak two or more languages themselves, so they can explain concepts clearly to students still strengthening their English, all while respecting and maintaining their mother tongue.
Every tutoring journey starts with a thorough assessment to pinpoint each student’s unique needs, preferred learning style, and academic targets. From there, tutors craft personalized plans that target areas for growth while leveraging what the student already does well. The assessment also takes into account previous schooling, so the shift into the American curriculum feels seamless.
Tutoring at Shanghai Livingston goes far beyond quick homework fixes or last-minute test cramming. Tutors coordinate closely with subject teachers to keep their sessions in step with what’s being taught in class. This partnership weaves together classroom learning and extra support, giving students consistent messages and techniques that speed up progress and build durable study habits.
