Assessment objectives describe exactly which skills are tested in the IGCSE Chemistry examinations. They ensure that candidates are assessed not only on memory but also on the application of ideas.

There are three main assessment objectives:

All three objectives are interlinked. A candidate who memorises facts but cannot apply them will struggle, and one who knows theory but cannot work safely in a laboratory will also lose marks.

3. Examination Structure | 考试结构
Most IGCSE Chemistry courses, such as Cambridge IGCSE Chemistry (0620), use a modular or single-syllabus structure with separate written papers. Candidates normally choose the Core route or the Extended route.
