📚 IGCSE WJEC Engineering: Study Resource Recommendations and Usage Guide | IGCSE WJEC
This guide pulls together the most practical study resources for IGCSE WJEC Engineering, from official specifications and past papers to CAD tools, video channels and revision strategies. Use it as a planning map, not a passive reading list: every resource below works best when you connect it directly to a specification topic, a timed question or a practical task.
1. Understanding the WJEC Specification | 理解 WJEC 考试大纲
Start with the official WJEC specification document for IGCSE Engineering. Download the latest version from the WJEC website and highlight the assessment objectives, unit weightings, command words and content checklists. Pay special attention to whether your course includes a non-exam assessment (NEA) or controlled assessment, because the evidence requirements for design portfolios and practical outcomes often carry a large share of the final mark.
- Print the content checklist and tick topics as you revise them.
- Write the assessment objectives next to your study notes.
- Check the latest specification every year, as WJEC occasionally updates terminology.
2. Official Past Papers and Mark Schemes |
Past papers are the highest-value resource for WJEC Engineering. Use them in three stages: first, attempt questions open-book to identify gaps; second, complete full papers under timed conditions; third, mark your work with the official mark scheme and note exactly where marks are lost. The examiner reports often explain common mistakes and give advice that is not available in textbooks.
- Keep an error log with question number, mistake type and correction.
- Compare your answer structure with the mark scheme, not just the final answer.
- Re-sit the same paper after two weeks to check retention.
