WJEC Drama questions increasingly ask you to do more than recall a rehearsal technique or describe a costume. The highest-band answers connect acting, directing, design, context and audience impact within the same paragraph. This guide gives you a repeatable training method for interdisciplinary integrated responses.

1. What Is an Interdisciplinary Question? | 什么是跨学科综合题？
An interdisciplinary question asks you to combine at least two subject lenses: text analysis plus lighting design, acting intention plus historical context, or blocking plus audience reception. In WJEC mark schemes, this is often signalled by 'how', 'as a director', or 'with reference to the whole extract'.

Do not treat these as separate mini-essays. The examiner wants one integrated argument in which each discipline supports the same interpretation. For example, a question on power might link a low-level set, an upstage actor, and a hardened vocal tone to show oppression.

2. The Four Evidence Domains | 四大证据领域
In a strong integrated answer, every point should draw evidence from four domains: Text (line, stage direction, structure), Performance (voice, movement, gesture), Design (set, lighting, sound, costume), and Context (historical, social, cultural background).

- Text 文本: quote a line or stage direction and name the moment.

If your paragraph lacks two or more domains, it is probably not answering an integrated question. A quick self-test is to underline each domain in your draft; a high-band answer should show at least three colours.

3. Reading the Question Through Command Words | 通过指令词审题
Command words determine the weighting of each discipline. 'Explain how an actor might...' privileges performance; 'How might a director use...' privileges staging and design; 'Discuss the impact...' requires audience response. Circle the command word before planning.

- Describe 描述: give accurate details; useful for design and staging.

For integrated questions, combine two command verbs into one line of argument: 'As a director, I would use a low-angle red wash to explain the danger and analyse how the actor's sharp pause makes that danger visible.'
