本文系统拆解 KS3 CIE 化学反应评分标准,帮助你明确得分点与常见失分点。文章涵盖指令词、CIE 评分标准内部的书写约定、每年反复出现的标准方程式与实验现象,以及考官被训练去接受的表述方式。配合练习题使用,你可以优化答题技巧,写出符合考官要求的答案。
1. Command Words and Mark Allocation | 指令词与分值分配
CIE mark schemes use command words to tell you how to answer. 'State' or 'Name' requires a short, factual answer with no explanation. 'Describe' asks for observations or a sequence of events. 'Explain' needs a scientific reason, often using particles or energy. 'Compare' asks for both similarities and differences, and 'Suggest' asks you to apply known ideas to an unfamiliar context. One mark is usually awarded for each correct point, so write more than one point if the question has more than one mark.
CIE 评分标准用指令词提示答题方式。State 或 Name 要求简短的事实性答案,不需要解释。Describe 要求描述观察现象或事件顺序。Explain 需要科学原因,通常涉及粒子或能量。Compare 要求同时写出相同点与不同点,Suggest 则要求把已有知识应用到陌生情境中。每个正确要点通常得 1 分,因此当题目分值超过 1 分时,必须写出多个要点。
| Command word | What the examiner wants | Typical credited answer |
| State / Name / Give | A short factual answer, no reason needed | 'Hydrogen' |
| Describe | Observations or a sequence of events | 'Bubbles are produced and the magnesium disappears' |
| Explain | A scientific reason, cause and effect | 'because a gas escapes into the air' |
| Compare | Similarities and differences, linked to both | 'both are exothermic, but reaction A is faster' |
| Suggest | Apply ideas to an unfamiliar situation | 'a fine powder because it has a larger surface area' |
| Calculate | A numerical answer with correct units | '24 cm³' |
For example, if a question says 'Describe what you see when magnesium reacts with acid', the mark scheme lists observable changes such as bubbles forming and the metal disappearing. If it says 'Explain why mass decreases', you must link the loss to a gas escaping, not just restate the observation. Counting the marks before you write tells you how many separate points the examiner expects.
例如,如果题目要求描述镁与酸反应时看到什么,评分标准会列出可观察的变化,如产生气泡、金属消失。如果题目要求解释质量为何减少,你必须把质量损失与气体逸出联系起来,而不是重复现象本身。动笔前先数分值,就能知道考官期望几个独立要点。
2. Reading the Symbols Inside a Mark Scheme | 读懂评分标准中的符号
CIE mark schemes are written in a shorthand that saves space but carries real meaning. A semicolon (;) separates one credit-worthy point from the next, so each semicolon on the answer line stands for one mark. A forward slash (/) means either answer is acceptable. Brackets ( ) mean the words inside are not essential for the mark. 'ora' means 'or reverse argument' and 'AW' means 'alternative wording'. 'ecf' means 'error carried forward', which tells examiners to keep giving marks for later steps even if an earlier value was wrong.
CIE 评分标准使用一套缩写体系,虽然节省篇幅,但含义明确。分号(;)用来分隔得分点,答案行上每一个分号就代表 1 分。斜线(/)表示两个答案都可以接受。括号( )表示括号内的文字不是得分必需。ora 表示"或相反的论证也可",AW 表示"其他可接受的表述"。ecf 表示"错误延续",即前面的数值算错时,后续步骤仍可继续给分。
You will also see 'ignore' next to answers that must not be penalised, and 'max 2' which caps the marks available for a longer list. 'Neutral' means an answer is neither credited nor punished. When you mark your own work, apply these conventions strictly: a correct idea written in the wrong place, or the right word attached to the wrong substance, does not normally earn the mark.
你还会看到 ignore,表示这类答案不得扣分;max 2 表示一段较长的列举最多只能得 2 分。Neutral 表示该答案既不给分也不扣分。自批时请严格执行这些约定:正确想法写错位置,或正确词汇配错物质,通常都拿不到分。
| Symbol | Meaning | What you should do |
| ; | Separates one mark point from the next | Write that many distinct points |
| / | Either answer accepted | Do not write both just to be safe |
| ( ) | Words not required for the mark | Key word is what matters |
| ora / AW | Alternative wording or reverse argument accepted | Rephrasing is fine if the science is right |
| ecf | Error carried forward | Always show your working |
| max 2 | Upper limit for that section | Do not waste time writing ten points |
3. Word Equations and Symbol Equations | 文字方程式与化学式方程式
ct order. The four general patterns that dominate the specification are: acid + metal → salt + hydrogen, acid + carbonate → salt + water + carbon dioxide, acid + alkali → salt + water, and metal + oxygen → metal oxide. Thermal decomposition of a metal carbonate gives a metal oxide and carbon dioxide.
文字方程式是 KS3 化学反应的核心起点,评分标准通常要求反应物与生成物正确且顺序正确。考纲中最常出现的四种通式为:酸 + 金属 → 盐 + 氢气,酸 + 碳酸盐 → 盐 + 水 + 二氧化碳,酸 + 碱 → 盐 + 水,金属 + 氧气 → 金属氧化物。金属碳酸盐受热分解则生成金属氧化物与二氧化碳。
acid + metal → salt + hydrogen
acid + carbonate → salt + water + carbon dioxide
acid + alkali → salt + water
Moving from words to formulae is where many candidates drop marks. You must know the formula of common substances, then balance the equation so that the number of atoms of each element is the same on both sides. This is a direct consequence of the law of conservation of mass: atoms are rearranged in a chemical reaction, never created or destroyed. An unbalanced equation may earn a mark for correct formulae but loses the mark for balancing.
从文字过渡到化学式是许多考生失分的地方。你必须记住常见物质的化学式,然后配平方程式,使两边每种元素的原子数相等。这直接来自质量守恒定律:化学反应中原子只是重新排列,既不会产生也不会消失。未配平的方程式中,正确的化学式可能得分,但配平分往往会丢掉。
Mg + 2HCl → MgCl₂ + H₂
CaCO₃ → CaO + CO₂
4. Balancing Equations and State Symbols | 配平方程式与状态符号
Balancing is checked by counting atoms, not by guessing. Work through the elements one at a time, starting with the element that appears in the fewest formulae, and only adjust the large numbers in front of a formula, never the subscripts inside it. Changing a subscript changes the substance itself and is a serious chemical error, even if the atoms then appear to balance.
配平要通过数原子完成,而不是凭感觉猜。逐元素处理,从出现在最少化学式中的元素开始,只能调整化学式前面的系数,绝不能改动化学式内部的下标。改动下标会改变物质本身,即使原子数看起来配平了,也是严重的化学错误。
2Mg + O₂ → 2MgO
2Na + 2H₂O → 2NaOH + H₂
in water. Write them only when the question asks for them, and check them against the reaction conditions given, because a product written as (aq) when it is actually a gas loses the mark. The arrow → is used for a completed reaction, while ⇌ reserved for reversible reactions such as the thermal decomposition of ammonium chloride.
状态符号在 CIE 评分标准中常常单独占分:(s) 表示固体,(l) 表示液体,(g) 表示气体,(aq) 表示溶于水的溶液。只有在题目要求时才写出,并要与题给反应条件核对,因为把实际是气体的产物写成 (aq) 会丢分。→ 用于表示已完成的反应,而 ⇌ 用于可逆反应,例如氯化铵的受热分解。
2HCl(aq) + Na₂CO₃(aq) → 2NaCl(aq) + H₂O(l) + CO₂(g)
5. Describing Observations Precisely | 精确描述实验现象
Observation questions are marked on what you could actually see, hear or feel, not on chemical names or explanations. Words that earn credit include effervescence, bubbles, fizzing, a colour change from X to Y, a white precipitate forms, the solid dissolves, the metal shrinks and eventually disappears, and the mixture gets warm. Vague statements such as 'it reacts' or 'a reaction happens' almost never earn a mark because they add no new information.
现象类题目只按你实际能看到、听到或感觉到的内容给分,而不是按化学名称或解释给分。可以得分的表述包括:产生气泡(effervescence / bubbles)、有嘶嘶声、颜色由 X 变为 Y、生成白色沉淀、固体溶解、金属逐渐变小直至消失、混合物变热。像"它反应了""发生了反应"这类笼统说法几乎永远拿不到分,因为没有提供新信息。
For example, when magnesium ribbon is added to dilute hydrochloric acid, a full-mark description reads: bubbles of gas are produced, the magnesium ribbon shrinks and eventually disappears, and the test tube becomes warm. If the gas is tested with a lighted splint, the mark scheme credits 'a squeaky pop' as the identification of hydrogen. Naming the gas without describing the test does not answer a 'describe the test' question.
例如,把镁条加入稀盐酸时,满分的描述是:产生气泡,镁条逐渐变小并最终消失,试管变热。如果用点燃的木条检验气体,评分标准会给"发出爆鸣声"这个要点,作为氢气的检验结果。若题目要求描述检验方法,只写出气体名称而不写检验过程是不能得分的。
Temperature change is itself an observation, so 'the solution gets warmer' is credited as evidence for an exothermic reaction; 'the solution gets colder' is evidence for an endothermic one. Always link a described change to the thing that changed: state which substance changed colour, which solid dissolved, or which gas was produced.
温度变化本身就是一种可观察现象,所以"溶液变热"可作为放热反应的证据,"溶液变冷"可作为吸热反应的证据。描述变化时一定要指明变化主体:哪种物质变色、哪种固体溶解、产生了哪种气体。
6. Explaining with Particles | 用粒子模型进行解释
Explanation marks at KS3 are almost always awarded for particle-level reasoning. The examiner is looking for a statement about particles moving, colliding, and having enough energy for a reaction, or about atoms rearranging during a chemical change. A general answer such as 'the particles react faster' is too vague; the credited version says 'the particles collide more frequently and with more energy, so more successful collisions happen each second'.
KS3 的解释类分数几乎都来自粒子层面的推理。考官想看到的是:粒子在运动、发生碰撞、并具有足以发生反应的能量;或是在化学变化中原子重新排列。像"粒子反应更快"这样的笼统答案过于模糊,得分的写法是"粒子碰撞更频繁且能量更高,因此每秒发生的有效碰撞更多"。
rate of reaction ∝ frequency of successful collisions
Particle reasoning also explains conservation of mass. During a chemical reaction the atoms are not destroyed, they are simply rearranged into new combinations, which is why the total mass of the products equals the total mass of the reactants in a closed system. If the mass appears to decrease, the reason is that a gas has escaped into the surroundings; if it appears to increase, a gas from the air has been incorporated into the product.
粒子推理同样解释了质量守恒。化学反应中原子并未消失,只是重新组合成新的搭配,因此在封闭体系中生成物总质量等于反应物总质量。如果质量看起来减少了,原因是有气体逸散到环境中;如果质量看起来增加了,则是有空气中的气体被结合进了产物中。
There is one important exception at KS3: dissolving is a physical change, not a chemical one. The mark scheme credits the idea that particles of the solute spread between particles of the solvent, but it will not credit bond breaking or new substance formation unless a chemical reaction genuinely occurs.
KS3 有一个重要例外:溶解属于物理变化,而非化学变化。评分标准会接受"溶质粒子分散到溶剂粒子之间"这一说法,但除非确实发生了化学反应,否则不会给化学键断裂或生成新物质的分数。
7. Energy Changes: Exothermic and Endothermic | 能量变化:放热与吸热
Energy change questions are marked on two things: the direction of the temperature change and the correct terminology. An exothermic reaction transfers energy to the surroundings, so the temperature of the surroundings rises; an endothermic reaction takes energy in from the surroundings, so the temperature falls. Combustion, neutralisation and respiration are standard exothermic examples, while thermal decomposition and photosynthesis are standard endothermic examples.
能量变化题按两点给分:温度变化的方向与正确的术语。放热反应把能量传递给环境,因此环境温度上升;吸热反应从环境吸收能量,因此温度下降。燃烧、中和与呼吸作用是标准的放热例子,而热分解与光合作用是标准的吸热例子。
exothermic: ΔT of surroundings > 0
endothermic: ΔT of surroundings < 0
At particle level, breaking bonds takes in energy and forming new bonds releases energy. Whether a reaction is overall exothermic or endothermic depends on the balance between the two. In a full-mark answer, state the temperature change observed and then say whether the energy was released to or taken from the surroundings; writing 'energy is given out' without linking it to the surroundings frequently loses the second mark.
在粒子层面,断键吸收能量,成键释放能量。一个反应整体是放热还是吸热,取决于两者的差值。满分答案应写出观察到的温度变化,再说明能量是被释放到环境还是从环境吸收;只写"释放能量"而不说明与环境的关系,常常丢掉第二分。
Energy level diagrams are marked on three features: the reactants' level, the products' level, and the direction of the arrow. For an exothermic reaction the products sit lower than the reactants and the arrow points down; for an endothermic reaction the products sit higher and the arrow points up. Labelling the vertical axis as 'energy' is normally required.
能量图按三个特征给分:反应物能级、生成物能级以及箭头方向。放热反应的生成物低于反应物,箭头向下;吸热反应的生成物高于反应物,箭头向上。纵轴通常必须标注为 energy(能量)。
8. Classifying Reaction Types | 反应类型的判别
A large share of mark scheme points simply require you to name the type of reaction correctly. Oxidation is the gain of oxygen, reduction is the loss of oxygen, and a reaction in which both happen together is a redox reaction. Displacement occurs when a more reactive metal takes the place of a less reactive metal in a compound, which is why the reactivity series is worth memorising in full.
相当一部分评分点只是要求你正确说出反应类型。氧化是得到氧,还原是失去氧,两者同时发生即为氧化还原反应。置换反应发生在较活泼金属把较不活泼金属从其化合物中替换出来时,这也是必须完整背下金属活动性顺序的原因。
Zn + CuSO₄ → ZnSO₄ + Cu
Neutralisation is the reaction between an acid and a base or alkali to produce a salt and water, and it is also a good example of an exothermic reaction. Combustion requires oxygen and releases energy, producing oxides of the elements burned. Thermal decomposition is the breakdown of one compound into two or more simpler substances by heating.
中和反应是酸与碱反应生成盐和水,同时也是放热反应的典型例子。燃烧需要氧气并释放能量,生成被燃烧元素的氧化物。热分解则是通过加热把一种化合物分解为两种或更多更简单的物质。
| Reaction type | General pattern | Key mark-scheme word |
| Oxidation | substance + oxygen → oxide | gain of oxygen |
| Reduction | oxide → substance + oxygen removed | loss of oxygen |
| Displacement | reactive metal + compound → new compound | more reactive metal takes the place |
| Neutralisation | acid + alkali → salt + water | pH moves towards 7 |
| Thermal decomposition | one compound → two or more substances on heating | broken down by heat |
9. Acids, Metals, Carbonates and Salts | 酸、金属、碳酸盐与盐
Salt naming follows the acid used, not the metal. Hydrochloric acid gives chlorides, sulfuric acid gives sulfates, and nitric acid gives nitrates. The mark scheme expects the full name of the salt, so 'magnesium chloride' earns the mark while 'magnesium something' does not. The metal in the salt always comes from the metal, the carbonate or the alkali, never from the acid.
盐的命名取决于所用的酸,而不是金属。盐酸生成氯化物,硫酸生成硫酸盐,硝酸生成硝酸盐。评分标准要求写出盐的完整名称,因此"氯化镁"可以得分,含糊写法不能得分。盐中的金属元素永远来自金属、碳酸盐或碱,而不是来自酸本身。
metal + hydrochloric acid → metal chloride + hydrogen
metal carbonate + sulfuric acid → metal sulfate + water + carbon dioxide
Whether a metal reacts with a dilute acid at all depends on its position in the reactivity series. Metals above hydrogen, such as potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium, zinc and iron, react; copper, silver and gold do not. A common exam question asks you to predict whether a reaction happens from a table of results, and the credited reasoning is always 'because it is more reactive than hydrogen' or 'because it is less reactive than the metal in the compound'.
金属能否与稀酸反应取决于它在金属活动性顺序中的位置。排在氢之前的金属,如钾、钠、钙、镁、锌和铁,能够反应;铜、银和金则不能。常见考题要求你根据结果表预测反应是否发生,得分理由永远围绕"因为它比氢更活泼"或"因为它比化合物中的金属更活泼"。
Gas tests are another reliable source of marks. Hydrogen gives a squeaky pop with a lighted splint. Carbon dioxide turns limewater milky or cloudy. Oxygen relights a glowing splint. Write both the test and the result, because a mark scheme for a two-mark question will split these into two separate points.
气体检验同样是稳定的得分点。氢气遇点燃木条发出爆鸣声;二氧化碳使石灰水变浑浊;氧气使带火星的木条复燃。检验方法与结果都要写,因为 2 分题的评分标准会把它们拆成两个独立要点。
10. Rates of Reaction and Catalysts | 反应速率与催化剂
Four factors control the rate of a chemical reaction: temperature, concentration or pressure, surface area of a solid reactant, and the presence of a catalyst. In every case the mark scheme wants the factor named, the effect stated, and a particle-level reason. 'Higher temperature' alone is worth a limited mark; 'higher temperature, so particles move faster and collide more frequently with more energy' earns the full allocation.
影响化学反应速率的因素有四个:温度、浓度或压强、固体反应物的表面积,以及是否使用催化剂。无论哪一个,评分标准都要求写出因素名称、说明效果,并给出粒子层面的理由。只写"温度更高"只能拿到有限的分;写成"温度更高,粒子运动更快
