1. Verb Tenses and Moods Overview | 动词时态与语式概述
A thorough knowledge of French verb conjugation is the backbone of accurate expression. For A-Level you need to control the present, imperfect, future, conditional, perfect, pluperfect, future perfect and conditional perfect tenses, as well as the subjunctive mood and the imperative.
全面掌握法语动词变位是准确表达的基础。在 A-Level 阶段你需要熟练运用现在时、未完成过去时、将来时、条件式、复合过去时、愈过去时、先将来时和条件式过去时,同时还要掌握虚拟式和命令式。
Regular present-tense endings provide the foundation. The table below shows the pattern for -er, -ir and -re verbs.
规则动词的现在时词尾是基础,下表列出了 -er、-ir 和 -re 动词的变位模式。
| Subject | -er (parler) | -ir (finir) | -re (vendre) |
|---|---|---|---|
| je | parle | finis | vends |
| tu | parles | finis | vends |
| il/elle | parle | finit | vend |
| nous | parlons | finissons | vendons |
| vous | parlez | finissez | vendez |
| ils/elles | parlent | finissent | vendent |
The imperfect is formed by taking the nous stem of the present tense and adding -ais, -ais, -ait, -ions, -iez, -aient. It describes ongoing or habitual past actions.
未完成过去时由现在时 nous 的词干加上词尾 -ais, -ais, -ait, -ions, -iez, -aient 构成,用于描述过去持续或习惯性的动作。
The simple future uses the whole infinitive (minus final -e for -re verbs) plus endings -ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont. The conditional is built on the same stem with imperfect endings. Key irregular future/conditional stems include ser- (être), aur- (avoir), fer- (faire), ir- (aller), viendr- (venir).
简单将来时使用动词不定式(-re 动词去掉词尾 -e)加上词尾 -ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont。条件式使用同样的词干加上未完成过去时的词尾。重要的不规则将来/条件式词干包括 ser-(être)、aur-(avoir)、fer-(faire)、ir-(aller)、viendr-(venir)。
The perfect tense (passé composé) combines the present of avoir or être with the past participle. Être is used with reflexive verbs and a set of intransitive movement/stative verbs (aller, venir, entrer, sortir, naître, mourir, etc.), and the participle agrees with the subject.
复合过去时由 avoir 或 être 的现在时加上过去分词构成。être 用于自反动词和一组不及物位移/状态动词(如 aller、venir、entrer、sortir、naître、mourir 等),此时过去分词需与主语性数配合。
Pluperfect (plus-que-parfait) uses the imperfect of avoir/être + past participle. Future perfect combines the simple future of avoir/être + past participle. Conditional perfect uses the conditional of avoir/être + past participle. Mastery of these compound tenses enables you to sequence time precisely in complex narratives.
愈过去时由 avoir/être 的未完成过去时加过去分词构成。先将来时由 avoir/être 的简单将来时加过去分词构成。条件式过去时由 avoir/être 的条件式现在时加过去分词构成。掌握这些复合时态能让你在复杂叙述中精确排布时间顺序。
2. Subjunctive Mood | 虚拟式用法
The subjunctive is not a tense but a mood expressing doubt, necessity, emotion, or subjectivity. It most often appears in subordinate clauses introduced by que.
虚拟式不是时态,而是一种语式,表达怀疑、必要、情感或主观判断。它最常出现在由 que 引导的从句中。
Typical expressions that require the subjunctive include il faut que, je veux que, je souhaite que, il est important que, and verbs of emotion such as je suis content que, je regrette que. Many impersonal expressions like il est dommage que, il est étonnant que, il vaut mieux que also trigger it.
要求使用虚拟式的典型表达包括 il faut que、je veux que、je souhaite que、il est important que,以及情感动词如 je suis content que、je regrette que。许多无人称表达如 il est dommage que、il est étonnant que、il vaut mieux que 也需要虚拟式。
Conjunctions that always take the subjunctive include bien que (although), pour que (so that), avant que (before), afin que (in order that), quoique (although) and à condition que (provided that). Note that après que takes the indicative, not the subjunctive, despite occasional usage errors.
始终要求虚拟式的连词包括 bien que(虽然)、pour que(以便)、avant que(在……之前)、afin que(为了)、quoique(尽管)和 à condition que(只要)。注意 après que 接直陈式而非虚拟式,尽管有时会被误用。
The present subjunctive is formed by taking the ils/elles stem of the present indicative and adding endings -e, -es, -e, -ions, -iez, -ent. Key irregular stems: être (soi-), avoir (ai-), aller (aill-), faire (fass-), pouvoir (puiss-), savoir (sach-), vouloir (veuill-). The past subjunctive uses the present subjunctive of avoir/être + past participle.
现在时虚拟式由直陈式现在时 ils/elles 词干加上词尾 -e, -es, -e, -ions, -iez, -ent 构成。重要不规则词干有:être (soi-)、avoir (ai-)、aller (aill-)、faire (fass-)、pouvoir (puiss-)、savoir (sach-)、vouloir (veuill-)。过去时虚拟式由 avoir/être 的现在时虚拟式加过去分词构成。
In A-Level essays and speaking, using the subjunctive correctly and naturally demonstrates advanced control. For instance, 'Il est essentiel que les jeunes prennent conscience des problèmes environnementaux' shows confident handling of the mood.
在 A-Level 写作和口语中,正确而自然地使用虚拟式能够体现高阶语言能力。例如,“Il est essentiel que les jeunes prennent conscience des problèmes environnementaux”展示了对此语式的自如运用。
3. Conditional and Si Clauses | 条件式与“si”从句
Conditional sentences with si are a staple of French argumentation. Three main sequences must be automatic for exam success.
以 si 引导的条件句是法语论述中的基本结构。为在考试中游刃有余,三种主要时态搭配必须烂熟于心。
The first type – probable condition – uses si + present in the if-clause and the present, future or imperative in the main clause: Si tu étudies, tu réussiras. The second type – hypothetical condition – uses si + imperfect followed by the conditional present: Si j'étais millionnaire, je voyagerais. The third type – unreal past condition – pairs si + pluperfect with the conditional perfect: Si elle avait su, elle serait venue.
第一种——可能条件——在条件从句中用 si + 现在时,主句用现在时、将来时或命令式:Si tu étudies, tu réussiras。第二种——假设条件——采用 si + 未完成过去时,主句用条件式现在时:Si j'étais millionnaire, je voyagerais。第三种——过去非真实条件——搭配 si + 愈过去时和条件式过去时:Si elle avait su, elle serait venue。
Be careful: si clauses never use the simple future or the conditional in the si part. This is a frequent error that examiners penalise. Instead, the present or imperfect is used even when the meaning refers to the future or hypothetical.
务必注意:si 引导的从句中从不使用简单将来时或条件式。这是考生常犯的错误,考官会扣分。即便语义指向未来或假设,也要使用现在时或未完成过去时。
In addition to si, other conditional-like constructions include au cas où + conditional, and même si + indicative. Using these accurately adds variety to your expression.
除了 si 之外,其他类似条件结构还包括 au cas où + 条件式,以及 même si + 直陈式。准确使用这些结构能为表达增添多样性。
4. Pronoun System | 代词体系
French pronouns are dense but logical. For A-Level you must control direct object (le, la, les), indirect object (lui, leur), the adverbial pronouns y and en, and disjunctive pronouns (moi, toi, lui, elle, nous, vous, eux, elles).
法语代词繁多但逻辑清晰。在 A-Level 阶段你必须掌握直接宾语代词(le, la, les)、间接宾语代词(lui, leur)、副代词 y 和 en,以及重读人称代词(moi, toi, lui, elle, nous, vous, eux, elles)。
rative, the order changes and pronouns follow the verb with hyphens: Donne-le-moi. Remember that in negative imperatives the regular order resumes.
代词在动词前的标准顺序为:me, te, se, nous, vous → le, la, les → lui, leur → y → en。在肯定命令式中顺序改变,代词置于动词后并用连字符连接:Donne-le-moi。记住在否定命令式中则恢复常规顺序。
Y replaces à + a place or thing (J'y vais) and en replaces de + noun (J'en veux). In compound tenses both precede the auxiliary: Je les ai vus; Il en a acheté. Disjunctive pronouns appear after prepositions (avec elle, pour toi) and for emphasis (Moi, je pense que...).
y 替代 à + 地点或事物(J'y vais),en 替代 de + 名词(J'en veux)。在复合时态中两者都位于助动词前:Je les ai vus;Il en a acheté。重读人称代词用于介词后(avec elle, pour toi)以及表示强调(Moi, je pense que...)。
The placement and agreement of past participles with preceding direct objects is another key area: 'les pommes que j'ai mangées' – the participle agrees with the preceding direct object 'que' referring to feminine plural 'pommes'.
过去分词与前置直接宾语的性数配合是另一个关键点:“les pommes que j'ai mangées”——分词与前置直接宾语“que”所指代的阴性复数名词“pommes”配合。
5. Relative Pronouns | 关系代词
Relative pronouns link clauses and add sophistication to your sentences. The simple forms are qui (subject), que/qu' (direct object), dont (replacing de + noun) and où (for time/place).
关系代词连接从句,为句子增添复杂性。简单形式有 qui(主语)、que/qu'(直接宾语)、dont(代替 de + 名词)和 où(表示时间或地点)。
Qui is used for the subject of the relative clause: 'la femme qui parle'. Que is the direct object: 'le livre que j'ai lu'. Dont follows expressions requiring de: 'le sujet dont il parle'. Où refers to a location or a point in time: 'la ville où je suis né'.
qui 用作关系从句的主语:“la femme qui parle”。que 用作直接宾语:“le livre que j'ai lu”。dont 用于需要 de 的表达:“le sujet dont il parle”。où 指地点或时间点:“la ville où je suis né”。
When the antecedent is a thing preceded by a preposition, use lequel, laquelle, lesquels, lesquelles. These agree in gender and number: 'la table sur laquelle j'écris'. After à and de, contract them to auquel, duquel, etc. When the antecedent is a person, qui is preferred after a preposition: 'la personne à qui je parle'.
当先行词是物且前面带有介词时,使用 lequel、laquelle、lesquels、lesquelles,需与先行词的性数配合:“la table sur laquelle j'écris”。在 à 和 de 后要缩合成 auquel、duquel 等。如果先行词是人,介词后优先用 qui:“la personne à qui je parle”。
Ce qui, ce que, ce dont and ce à quoi are used when there is no expressed antecedent, meaning 'what': 'Je ne comprends pas ce que tu dis'. Using these correctly in speaking and writing shows a high level of fluency.
当没有明确的先行词时,用 ce qui、ce que、ce dont 和 ce à quoi 表示“所……的东西”:“Je ne comprends pas ce que tu dis”。正确使用这些结构可展现流利度和高水平。
6. Passive Voice | 被动语态
The passive is formed with être in the appropriate tense + a past participle that agrees with the subject. Only transitive direct verbs can be passivised.
被动语态由 être 的适时态 + 过去分词构成,过去分词需与主语性数配合。只有直接及物动词可以用于被动语态。
Active: 'Le chef prépare le repas' → Passive: 'Le repas est préparé par le chef'. The agent is introduced by par or de (de is used with verbs of state or feeling: aimé de, respecté sive often sounds formal; in speech French speakers prefer on or a reflexive construction: 'Le repas se prépare rapidement'.
主动:“Le chef prépare le repas” → 被动:“Le repas est préparé par le chef”。施动者由 par 或 de 引入(de 用于状态或情感动词:aimé de、respecté de)。被动语态常显得正式;口语中法国人更偏爱用无人称 on 或自反结构:“Le repas se prépare rapidement”。
ust be able to transform active sentences into the passive while keeping the tense intact: 'On a construit cet immeuble en 1920' → 'Cet immeuble a été construit en 1920'. Always check that the past participle agrees in gender and number with the new subject.
在 A-Level 考试中,你必须能够在保持时态不变的前提下将主动句转为被动句:“On a construit cet immeuble en 1920” → “Cet immeuble a été construit en 1920”。注意检查过去分词与新的主语保持性数一致。
Recognising the passive also helps with comprehension in reading and listening, especially when the agent is omitted: 'Les décrets ont été signés hier' leaves out who signed.
识别被动语态也有助于阅读和听力理解,尤其是当施动者被省略时:“Les décrets ont été signés hier”就没有说明是谁签署的。
7. Indirect Speech | 间接引语
When reporting statements, the conjunction que introduces the reported clause. Tenses typically shift back one step if the introductory verb is in the past.
转述陈述时,用连词 que 引入转述从句。
