1. Definite and Indefinite Articles | 定冠词与不定冠词

The definite article 'the' has three gender forms in the nominative case: der (masculine), die (feminine), das (neuter), and die (plural). The indefinite article 'a/an' is ein (masc./neuter) and eine (fem./plural). These change according to case, as shown in the table below.

定冠词“the”在主格中有三个性别形式:der(阳性)、die(阴性)、das(中性),复数一律用 die。不定冠词“a/an”为 ein(阳/中)和 eine(阴/复)。它们会根据格位变化,见下表。

Case Masc. Neut. Fem. Plural
Nom. der / ein das / ein die / eine die / –
Acc. den / einen das / ein die / eine die / –
Dat. dem / einem dem / einem der / einer den / –
Gen.* des / eines des / eines der / einer der / –

*Genitive is mainly seen in writing; in spoken German, 'von' + dative often replaces it.

*属格主要用于书面语,口语中常用“von + 第三格”替代。

2. Noun Genders and Plurals | 名词性别与复数形式

Every German noun has one of three genders: masculine, feminine or neuter. There are some helpful patterns: nouns ending in -ung, -tion, -heit, -keit, -schaft are usually feminine; -chen and -lein are neuter; many one-syllable action nouns are masculine. Plurals are formed in several ways, often with an umlaut added to the stem vowel.

每个德语名词都有三种性别之一:阳性、阴性或中性。有一些规律可循:以 -ung、-tion、-heit、-keit、-schaft 结尾的名词多为阴性;-chen、-lein 为中性;许多单音节动作名词为阳性。复数构成方式多样,常伴有词干元音变音(Umlaut)。

3. Personal Pronouns | 人称代词

Personal pronouns stand in for nouns and must match the case required by the sentence role. In the nominative, ich (I), du (you informal), er/sie/es (he/she/it), wir (we), ihr (you plural informal), sie/Sie (they/you formal). The accusative and dative forms are vital for object position.

人称代词代替名词,必须与句子角色所需的格位一致。主格形式为 ich(我)、du(你,非正式)、er/sie/es(他/她/它)、wir(我们)、ihr(你们,非正式)、sie/Sie(他们/您/你们正式)。宾格和与格形式对宾语位置至关重要。

Nom.Acc.Dat.
ichmichmir
dudichdir
erihnihm
sie (she)sieihr
esesihm
wirunsuns
ihreucheuch
sie (they)sieihnen
Sie (formal)SieIhnen

4. Present Tense Verb Conjugation (Präsens) | 现在时动词变位

The present tense is formed by taking the verb stem (infinitive minus -en or -n) and adding the appropriate endings. Weak (regular) verbs follow a fixed pattern; strong verbs often change the stem vowel in the du and er/sie/es forms.

现在时由动词词干(不定式去掉 -en 或 -n)加上相应词尾构成。弱变化(规则)动词遵循固定模式;强变化动词的 du 和 er/sie/es 形式常发生词干元音变化。

spielen (to play) – regular

PronounEndingExample
ich-eich spiele
du-stdu spielst
er/sie/es-ter spielt
wir-enwir spielen
ihr-tihr spielt
sie/Sie-ensie spielen

sehen (to see) – stem change e → ie

5. Perfect Tense (Perfekt) | 现在完成时

The Perfekt is the main past tense in spoken German. It is built with the present tense of haben or sein as the auxiliary and the past participle. Most verbs use haben; verbs expressing movement from A to B or a change of state use sein. The past participle usually starts with ge- and ends in -t (weak) or -en (strong).

现在完成时是德语口语中最主要的过去时态。它由助动词 haben 或 sein 的现在时变位加上第二分词构成。大多数动词用 haben;表示从 A 到 B 的位移或状态变化的动词用 sein。第二分词通常以 ge- 开头,弱变化动词以 -t 结尾,强变化动词以 -en 结尾。

Formation pattern: subject + auxiliary + other elements + past participle (at the end). Example: Ich habe einen Film gesehen. (I have seen a film.) Er ist nach Hause gegangen. (He has gone home.)

结构模式:主语 + 助动词 + 其他成分 + 第二分词(位于句末)。例:Ich habe einen Film gesehen。(我看了一部电影。)Er ist nach Hause gegangen。(他回家了。)

InfinitivePast ParticipleAuxiliary
machengemachthaben
lesengelesenhaben
fahrengefahrensein
bleibengebliebensein
aufstehenaufgestandensein

6. Future Tense (Futur I) | 将来时

To express future intentions or predictions, use the present tense of werden + infinitive at the end of the clause. The main verb stays in its unchanged infinitive form. Time phrases such as morgen, nächstes Jahr make the meaning clearer.

表达将来的打算或预测时,使用 werden 的现在时变位加上位于句末的动词原形。主动词保持不定式不变。配合 morgen、nächstes Jahr 等时间短语,意思更加明确。

Conjugation of werden: ich werde, du wirst, er/sie/es wird, wir werden, ihr werdet, sie/Sie werden.

werden 的变位:ich werde, du wirst, er/sie/es wird, wir werden, ihr werdet, sie/Sie werden。

Examples: Ich werde später Deutsch lernen. (I will study German later.) Wir werden am Samstag ins Kino gehen. (We will go to the cinema on Saturday.)

例句:Ich werde später Deutsch lernen。(我稍后会学德语。)Wir werden am Samstag ins Kino gehen。(我们周六会去电影院。)

7. Modal Verbs (Modalverben) | 情态动词

The six key modal verbs are können, dürfen, müssen, sollen, wollen, mögen (möchten). They express ability, permission, obligation, suggestion, will and preference. Modal verbs conjugate irregularly in the singular and take an infinitive at the end of the clause.

六个核心情态动词是 können、dürfen、müssen、sollen、wollen、mögen(常用其虚拟式 möchte)。它们表达能力、允许、义务、建议、意愿和喜好。情态动词单数变位不规则,并将不定式置于句末。

Modal verbichduer/sie/esMeaning
könnenkannkannstkanncan, be able to
dürfendarfdarfstdarfbe allowed to
müssenmussmusstmussmust, have to
sollensollsollstsollshould, ought to
wollenwillwillstwillwant to
mögen / möchtemag / möchtemagst / möchtestmag / möchtelike / would like

Sentence frame: Ich kann gut schwimmen. (I can swim well.) Du musst jetzt gehen. (You must go now.) The infinitive goes to the end.

句式框架:Ich kann gut schwimmen.(我游泳游得好。)Du musst jetzt gehen.(你现在必须走了。)动词不定式置于句末。

8. Cases and Prepositions | 格与介词

There are four cases: nominative, accusative, dative and genitive. Prepositions dictate the case of the noun phrase that follows them. Many prepositions are always followed by one specific case; two-way prepositions can take either accusative (motion towards) or dative (static location).

德语有四个格:主格、宾格、与格、属格。介词决定其后名词短语的格位。许多介词总是支配某一个固定的格;双向介词则根据语义接宾格(表示方向)或与格(表示静态位置)。

Prepositions always + accusativePrepositions always + dativeTwo-way prepositions
durch, für, gegen, ohne, um, entlang aus, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu, gegenüber an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor, zwischen

Two-way rule: Accusative answers Wohin? (where to?); dative answers Wo? (where at?). Example: Ich lege das Buch auf den Tisch. (acc.) vs Das Buch liegt auf dem Tisch. (dat.)

双向介词规则:宾格回答 Wohin?(去哪里?);与格回答 Wo?(在哪里?)。例:Ich lege das Buch auf den Tisch.(我把书放到桌子上,宾格)对比 Das Buch liegt auf dem Tisch.(书在桌子上,与格)。

9. Adjective Endings | 形容词词尾变化

Adjective endings depend on three factors: the gender, number and case of the noun, and whether the article is definite, indefinite or there is no article. The three tables below cover the main patterns you need for GCSE.

形容词词尾取决于三个因素:名词的性、数、格,以及冠词是定冠词、不定冠词还是零冠词。以下三张表涵盖 GCSE 所需的主要变化模式。

After definite article (der, die, das...): adjective usually takes -e in nominative singular and -en in most other forms.

定冠词后:形容词在单数主格通常加 -e,其余多数形式加 -en。

CaseMasc.Neut.Fem.Plural
Nom.der gutedas gutedie gutedie guten
Acc.den gutendas gutedie gutedie guten
Dat.dem gutendem gutender gutenden guten

After indefinite article (ein, eine...), kein, possessive adjectives: the ending must also show the gender/case clearly; the pattern is a mix of strong and weak endings.

不定冠词、kein、物主代词后:词尾需要明确体现性/格信息,是强弱混合变化。

CaseMasc.Neut.Fem.Plural
Nom.ein guterein guteseine gutekeine guten
Acc.einen gutenein guteseine gutekeine guten
Dat.einem guteneinem guteneiner gutenkeinen guten

No article: adjective carries the strong ending that mirrors the definite article endings (der/die/das pattern) except in masculine/neuter genitive.

无冠词:形容词
