📚 IGCSE Edexcel German: Common Mistakes and How to Correct Them | IGCSE Edexcel 德语:常见误区与纠正方法
For many IGCSE students, German can feel like a minefield of tiny errors that keep popping up in speaking, writing and translation. These mistakes are often systematic and entirely preventable. This article gathers the most frequent pitfalls seen in Edexcel IGCSE German assessments and shows you exactly how to fix them.
对许多IGCSE学生来说,德语就像一片雷区,口语、写作和翻译中总会出现各种小错。这些错误往往是有规律的,也是完全可以避免的。本文汇集了Edexcel IGCSE德语考试中最常见的陷阱,并告诉你如何一一纠正。
1. Noun Gender Confusion | 名词性别混淆
Mixing up der, die and das is the single most common error and it cascades into case and adjective endings.
搞混der、die和das是最普遍的错误,还会连带影响格的变化和形容词词尾。
Always learn a noun with its definite article. For example, never memorise 'table = Tisch' alone – learn 'der Tisch'.
务必连带定冠词一起记忆名词。比如,不要只记“table = Tisch”,要记“der Tisch”。
Use gender hints: words ending in -ung, -heit, -keit, -schaft, -tion are feminine (die). Words ending in -chen and -lein are neuter (das). Many nouns ending in -er, -el, -en are masculine (der).
利用性别提示:以-ung、-heit、-keit、-schaft、-tion结尾的词多为阴性(die)。-chen和-lein结尾的是中性(das)。许多以-er、-el、-en结尾的词是阳性(der)。
Create colour-coded flashcards: blue for masculine, red for feminine, green for neuter. Writing the article every time builds memory.
制作颜色分类的卡片:阳性用蓝色,阴性用红色,中性用绿色。每次写下冠词能够强化记忆。
2. Case Errors (Nominative, Accusative, Dative, Genitive) | 格的错误(主格、宾格、与格、属格)
Using the wrong case after prepositions or for direct/indirect objects is a frequent mistake. The Edexcel writing tasks require accurate case usage.
在介词之后或者直接宾语、间接宾语上使用错误的格是常见错误。Edexcel写作任务需要准确的格的使用。
Memorise the definite article table in all cases: der (Nom. masc.), den (Acc. masc.), dem (Dat. masc./neut.), des (Gen. masc./neut.). Practice until it becomes automatic.
记住定冠词在所有格中的形式:der(阳性主格),den(阳性宾格),dem(阳性/中性与格),des(阳性/中性属格)。反复练习直到脱口而出。
Identify the case by asking: Is there a direct object? (Accusative) An indirect object? (Dative) After certain verbs like helfen (dative) or fragen (accusative)?
通过提问来判断格的类型:有直接宾语吗?(宾格)有间接宾语吗?(与格)在像helfen(帮助,接与格)或fragen(问,接宾格)这类动词之后?
For two-way prepositions (an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor, zwischen), accusative indicates movement (wohin?), dative indicates location (wo?).
对于双介词(an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor, zwischen),宾格表示位移(wohin?),与格表示位置(wo?)。
3. Verb Position: V2 Rule and Subordinate Clauses | 动词位置:动词第二位规则和从句
In main clauses the conjugated verb must be the second element. Many learners push the verb to the end like in English or after time phrases incorrectly.
在主要分句中,变位动词必须是第二个成分。许多学习者像英语那样把动词放在句末,或者在时间状语之后放错位置。
Correct: Heute gehe ich ins Kino. (Today go I to the cinema.) Not: Heute ich gehe ins Kino.
正确:Heute gehe ich ins Kino.(今天我去电影院。)错误:Heute ich gehe ins Kino.
In subordinate clauses introduced by weil, dass, obwohl, wenn, the conjugated verb goes to the end. Example: Ich bleibe zu Hause, weil es regnet. (I stay at home because it rains.)
在由weil, dass, obwohl, wenn等引导的从句中,变位动词要放在句末。例:Ich bleibe zu Hause, weil es regnet.(我待在家里,因为下雨。)
Practice rewriting sentences: Start with a time expression, then verb, then subject. E.g., Am Wochenende spiele ich Tennis.
练习改写句子:以时间表达开头,然后是动词,再是主语。例如:Am Wochenende spiele ich Tennis.(周末我打网球。)
4. Separable Verbs | 分离动词
Separable prefixes like auf-, an-, mit-, fern- detach in main clauses and are often left behind or misplaced.
可分前缀如auf-, an-, mit-, fern-在主句中会分离,但常被漏掉或放错位置。
Example: Ich stehe um 7 Uhr auf. (I get up at 7 o'clock.) The prefix auf goes to the very end. Errors: Ich aufstehe um 7 Uhr.
例:Ich stehe um 7 Uhr auf.(我7点起床。)前缀auf放到句末。错误:Ich aufstehe um 7 Uhr.
In a subordinate clause, the separable verb stays together at the end: ..., weil ich um 7 Uhr aufstehe.
在从句中,可分动词合在一起放在句末:..., weil ich um 7 Uhr aufstehe.(..., 因为我7点起床。)
Make a list of common separable prefixes and practice with daily routine verbs: fernsehen, anrufen, einkaufen, aufräumen.
列出常见的可分前缀,并用日常生活动词练习:fernsehen(看电视),anrufen(打电话),einkaufen(购物),aufräumen(整理)。
5. Perfect Tense Auxiliary: haben or sein? | 完成时助动词:haben还是sein?
Choosing the wrong auxiliary for the perfect tense is a classic blunder. Sein is used for verbs indicating movement or change of state.
选错完成时助动词是经典错误。Sein用于表达位移或状态变化的动词。
Verbs taking sein: gehen, fahren, fliegen, schwimmen, laufen, sterben, einschlafen, aufwachen, werden, bleiben, sein. Most other verbs take haben.
用sein作助动词的动词:gehen, fahren, fliegen, schwimmen, laufen, sterben, einschlafen, aufwachen, werden, bleiben, sein。大多数其它动词用haben。
Correct: Ich bin nach London gefahren. (I drove/went to London.) Incorrect: Ich habe nach London gefahren.
正确:Ich bin nach London gefahren.(我开车/去了伦敦。)错误:Ich habe nach London gefahren.
Watch out: schwimmen can take sein when a destination is implied: Ich bin über den See geschwommen.
注意:当schwimmen表示游向某地时,用sein:Ich bin über den See geschwommen.(我游过了湖。)
6. Adjective Endings | 形容词词尾
Adjective endings look chaotic but follow simple declension patterns. The mistake is often guessing or using the base form everywhere.
形容词词尾看起来混乱,但其实遵循简单的变格模式。常见错误是乱猜或到处用原形。
There are three scenarios: weak declension after a definite article (der/die/das), strong declension when no article, and mixed after ein/kein/mein.
有三种情况:定冠词后的弱变化,无冠词时的强变化,以及不定冠词/物主代词后的混合变化。
Weak endings (definite article): nominative always -e, accusative feminine and neuter -e, others -en. Der gute Mann, die gute Frau, das gute Kind.
弱变化(定冠词后):主格总是-e,宾格阴性和中性-e,其他用-en。Der gute Mann, die gute Frau, das gute Kind.
Strong endings: the adjective must show the case ending more clearly: guter Wein, kaltes Wasser, mit großem Interesse.
强变化:形容词必须更清晰地显示格的词尾:guter Wein, kaltes Wasser, mit großem Interesse.
Use a colour-coded adjective ending table for quick reference. Practice by describing objects: Der alte Tisch, ein alter Tisch, alter Tisch.
用颜色标记的形容词词尾表作快速参考。通过描述物体来练习:Der alte Tisch, ein alter Tisch, alter Tisch。
7. Prepositions and Case Government | 介词与支配的格
Prepositions dictate a fixed case. Common mistakes involve using accusative after dative-only prepositions or vice versa.
介词决定固定的格。常见错误是把只接与格的介词当宾格用,或反过来。
Dative-only prepositions: mit, nach, bei, seit, von, zu, aus, außer, gegenüber. Always followed by dative.
8. Reflexive Verbs and Pronouns | 反身动词和反身代词
Students often forget the reflexive pronoun or use the wrong case (accusative instead of dative for certain verbs).
学生经常忘记反身代词,或者用错格(该用与格时用了宾格)。
True reflexive verbs always need a reflexive pronoun: sich interessieren für, sich freuen auf/über, sich erinnern an, sich waschen.
真反身动词始终需要反身代词:sich interessieren für(对...感兴趣),sich freuen auf/über(期待/高兴),sich erinnern an(想起),sich waschen(洗澡)。
Most reflexive pronouns are accusative: mich, dich, sich, uns, euch, sich. In the dative only for mir, dir when there is another direct object: Ich wasche mir die Hände. (I wash my hands – literally 'to me the hands'.)
大多数反身代词是宾格:mich, dich, sich, uns, euch, sich。当句子中有另一个直接宾语时,反身代词用与格:Ich wasche mir die Hände.(我洗我的手。)
Place the reflexive pronoun right after the conjugated verb in main clauses: Ich interessiere mich für Musik.
在主句中,把反身代词直接放在变位动词之后:Ich interessiere mich für Musik.
9. Modal Verbs and Double Infinitive | 情态动词及双不定式
With modal verbs (können, müssen, dürfen, wollen, sollen, mögen), the main verb goes to the end in the infinitive. Perfect tense constructions often miss the double infinitive rule.
使用情态动词(können, müssen, dürfen, wollen, sollen, mögen)时,主要动词以不定式形式放在句末。完成时结构中常常丢失双不定式规则。
Present: Ich kann gut schwimmen. (I can swim well.) Past: Ich konnte gut schwimmen. Perfect: Ich habe gut schwimmen können. (Double infinitive with haben.)
现在时:Ich kann gut schwimmen. 过去时:Ich konnte gut schwimmen. 完成时:Ich habe gut schwimmen können.(与haben连用的双不定式。)
Common error: Ich habe gut schwimmen gekonnt. – never use the past participle of the modal verb when it is accompanied by another infinitive.
常见错误:Ich habe gut schwimmen gekonnt. ——当有情态动词伴随另一个不定式时,绝对不要用情态动词的第二分词。
Same rule applies after lassen, sehen, hören: Ich habe ihn kommen sehen.
同样的规则在lassen, sehen, hören后也适用:Ich habe ihn kommen sehen.
10. Common Word Confusions (wissen/kennen, wenn/als, etc.) | 常见词汇混淆(wissen/kennen, wenn/als等)
These false friends and near-synonyms cause regular marks to be lost in writing and speaking.
这些易混淆的近义词常常导致写作和口语失分。
Wissen is for facts, kennen is for familiarity with people, places, things. Ich weiß die Antwort. but Ich kenne den Mann.
Wissen用于陈述事实,kennen用于对人、地方、事物的熟悉。 Ich weiß die Antwort.(我知道答案),但 Ich kenne den Mann.(我认识那个男人。)
Wenn is used for repeated events or conditions (whenever/if); als is used for a single event in the past. Wenn ich Zeit habe, lese ich. but Als ich 10 war, ...
Wenn用于重复事件或条件(每当/如果);als用于过去的一次性事件。Wenn ich Zeit habe, lese ich.(当我有时间时,我会阅读。)但 Als ich 10 war, ...(当我10岁的时候...)
Machen is to make/do producing something concrete, while tun is more abstract and less preferred in formal writing. Avoid tun unless in set phrases like 'es tut mir leid'.
Machen表示产生具体事物的“做”,而tun较为抽象,在正式写作中最好避免使用。除了固定搭配如“es tut mir leid”,尽量用machen。
Also distinguish nicht (negation of verb/adj) and kein (negation of noun): Ich habe kein Geld. vs Ich sehe den Film nicht.
还要区分nicht(否定动词或形容词)和kein(否定名词):Ich habe kein Geld.(我没有钱。)和Ich sehe den Film nicht.(我没看电影。)
11. Pronunciation and Spelling Pitfalls (ie/ei, ß/ss, Umlauts) | 发音与拼写陷阱(ie/ei, ß/ss, 变音字母)
Spelling errors such as ie vs ei, missing umlauts, or confusing ß and ss are extremely common in IGCSE dictation and writing.
诸如ie与ei混淆、漏掉变音符号、不分ß和ss等拼写错误在IGCSE听写和写作中极为常见。
Remember pronunciation: ie = long 'ee' sound (sieben, Liebe); ei = 'eye' sound (mein, Eis). Never swap them.
记住发音规则:ie发长音“咿”(sieben, Liebe);ei发“艾”音(mein, Eis)。千万不要弄混。
ß (Eszett) after long vowels and diphthongs: Straße, groß, heißen. ss after short vowels: muss, Kuss, Fluss. This follows the modern spelling reform.
长元音和双元音后用ß:Straße, groß, heißen。短元音后用ss:muss, Kuss, Fluss。这遵循现代正字法改革。
Umlauts (ä, ö, ü) change meaning: schon (already) vs schön (beautiful); Mutter (mother) vs Mütter (mothers). Always add the dots.
变音符号(ä, ö, ü)能改变词义:schon(已经)对比schön(美丽的);Mutter(母亲)对比Mütter(母亲们)。必须加上上面的两点。
On a keyboard without Umlauts, replace with ae, oe, ue, but in exams always write letters properly if permitted.
在没有变音字母的键盘上,可用ae, oe, ue代替,但在考试中应尽可能写出正确的字母。
12. Word Order with Time, Manner, Place | 时间、方式、地点状语语序
The typical order of adverbial phrases in a German sentence is Time - Manner - Place (TMP). English speakers often scramble this.
德语中状语短语的典型顺序是时间-方式-地点(TMP)。英语母语者常常打乱这个顺序。
Example: Ich fahre morgen mit dem Bus zur Schule. (Time: morgen, Manner: mit dem Bus, Place: zur Schule.) Not: Ich fahre zur Schule mit dem Bus morgen.
示例:Ich fahre morgen mit dem Bus zur Schule.(时间:morgen,方式:mit dem Bus,地点:zur Schule。)错误:Ich fahre zur Schule mit dem Bus morgen.
If you want to emphasise something, you can move it to position 1, but then the finite verb remains second and the subject right after. Morgen fahre ich mit dem Bus zur Schule.
如果想强调某个成分,可以把它放在第一位,但定式动词仍保持第二位,主语紧随其后。Morgen fahre ich mit dem Bus zur Schule.
Indirect object (Dative) before direct object (Accusative) when both are nouns: Ich gebe dem Mann das Buch. But if the direct object is a pronoun, it comes before the dative noun: Ich gebe es dem Mann.
当两个宾语都是名词时,间接宾语(与格)放直接宾语前:Ich gebe dem Mann das Buch.但直接宾语如果是代词,则放在与格名词前:Ich gebe es dem Mann.
Learning the TMP rule stops your sentences from sounding English and helps with spontaneous speaking in the oral exam.
掌握TMP规则能让你的句子听起来不那么英式,也有助于口语考试中的即兴表达。
